I voted. I'm not the type to vote 100 times, but I put my 2 cents in.

Butler is leaving with, IMO, two awards. Rookie and fan favourite? Be hard for Morneau to lose fan favourite. Early in the season it looked like Conrad would be a lock for rookie of the year, maybe even for the whole Q (or CHL), but after the U17 he just looked completely different out there and not in a good way.

I voted for Butler over Morneau for fan favourite, not that makes any difference. I feel like Butler has really stepped it up in the second half, he’s always busting his age and making nice plays…unfortunately he got hurt right before the voting started so some fans may of slightly forgot about him a bit. I also don’t think he had a great year, certainly compared to last year. Either way it’s a (somewhat) meaningless award and the Isles are lucky to have both players who both seem like very good human beings

My votes: Butler for rookie. Kearsey for defence. I struggled with the offensive vote to be honest because I think we have struggled there but I voted Morneau. For fan fav & hardest working I went with Hughes - to me, he’s the most involved and interactive player, always signing autographs and giving kids pucks over the boards and I’ve seen him grow so much on and off the ice. He’s def a fav in our house. MVP I picked Bickle - many games he kept us alive and in the hunt for a W I struggled with fav play because I didn’t think any were that great (sorry for being negative) but in the end I went with Conrad’s storybook OT wins because they were fun to watch and I was at both games! Side note - Butler is a player I am so excited to watch grow. The most excited!!. I think his awareness and ability to make the right decision in plays is astounding. Well above where most players are at his age. And the instinctiveness to make those plays is not something you can always teach. He has it.

Anyone going to these awards tonight? Wondering how formal they are. I have never gone but judging by previous years photos I do not think they are very formal. those were at a hotel though, not sure about this one at the Eastlink Centre

Super casual and I enjoyed it that way!

Based on his play in the second half, I expect Bickle to be the #1 and one of our 20 y/o's next season. Jim just seemed to grow more comfortable with him over Ozols as the season wore on.
I think he deserves a spot on our team next season.

Bickle and Hughes are locks as of now
then i feel it comes down to a camp battle between Michel and Vos unless they can find a FA somewhere
we absolutely should not be considering moving any of our depleted draft stock to add a 20 IMO

I feel Vos has been great this season considering most (including myself) had him pegged for Jr A at some point this season…being an Island boy certainly doesn’t hurt as well.
If we’re keeping Bickle, I assume that means Ozols is gone…hopefully either Hickey or Boudreau can step in
Does Maruna have a spot on the team next year? A few weeks back when his family was in town, he looked good on that 4th line but hasn’t really done much since. And if you have an Euro on the 4th line, you’re essentially wasting that prime asset.
