yep i don't feel there is much chance this move was made with any notion of flipping him at Christmas we have seen how the 20 year old market hasnt been very fruitful for us the past two rebuilding years with being unable to move Biakabatuka and Horth..... even harder to move a goalie IMO Fair take, I remember the Biakabatuka market being non-existent. Shocked me.

Something of note I think is our lack of centre depth. There's Butler as the 1C, which I'm assuming not many people will have a problem with, but Powers as a 2C makes me a bit nervous. Dumas as a rookie 2C is wayyy too risky. Anthony Flanagan could take it but until we see if he's put any muscle on I don't know how to feel about it. I wonder if Hulton has something up his sleeve here.

Looking at his stats I would be very surprised but I haven’t watched him play so I’m not sure.

Ben Boyd was drafted, I may remind you. Say what you will about his stats, you can't teach being 6'4".

Marcus Kearsey doesn’t get drafted today, too bad.
Only positive is that slightly increases his chances of playing in the league as a 20 y/o.

I didn’t confirm that anywhere but the smaller D are less and less popular in the NHL draft and you basically have to be such a dynamic talent that they can’t deny you.

Similarly with goaltending, if you’re not 6-4”, good luck.

Marcus Kearsey invited to the Detroit Red Wings development camp per Mikaël Lalancette. Anyone know if any other islanders are attending NHL camps this year?

Marcus Kearsey invited to the Detroit Red Wings development camp per Mikaël Lalancette. This is definitely the better option I think for a mid to late draft ranked player. Gives him more freedom and he isn't bound to a team who could mismanage his status in the league. Hope he learns a lot at the camp. Side note; Import Draft is today. I wonder who we'll pick this year. We pick 10th and 70th (should they use the picks).
