Thought Voiaga and Steen were our best 2 D men tonight both play a mean game. Plamodon in D is a real smooth skater could be a nice add with experience. Ruccia played well despite giving up four. Yuzik,Campbell, Powers all played well Walsh and Biser seem to be earning there stay as well. Hughes didn’t do much in this game it’s going to be a year where we really struggle to score I think we score less goals this year than any other year so strong D and goaltending will win us games.

Steen -2 one shift was turning point of game don’t think Vioga was out with him though. Followed it up with 2 slapshot icings in one shift. Bring back Vos

So is Steen over Hughes a possibility? It also it likely attached to Lemieux-Goupil and the decision on where to start him.
Steen Topilnyckyj Jardine Kearsey Duguay Conrad Plamondon Voyaga Lemieux-Goupil
That’s too many D.

Steen didn’t do anything to impress me as an OA free agent…Hughes didn’t either, but we know what he’s capable of despite going through slow starts at the beginning of the season.
Goals are going to be extremely hard to come by, and although Hughes won’t put up a ton of goals, you hope he’ll pot 15-20 more than a Rowan Walsh (or whoever would make the squad in Hughes’ absence)

Hughes hasn’t dressed yet but made more plays and hits than most
He had 20 goals 2nd half last year. At that clip 30 or 40 this year not out of order

Hughes hasn’t dressed yet but made more plays and hits than most He had 20 goals 2nd half last year. At that clip 30 or 40 this year not out of order Hughes had 21 goals last season.....13 in the second half. While not a big fan of Hughes, he was the 2nd leading goal scorer on the Islanders last year, ahead of Huckins (19) and Morneau (17), with both having played more games. We definitely need someone that can out the puck in the net. 30 goals is not out of the question, if he stays healthy, but 40 would be a bit of a reach, IMO.
