Ruccia has been very good. Yeah he was a beast. Tough loss but overall a great game I am the most excited about how great our defence looked. With the exception of the 5 min in the 3rd (that cost us) we looked solid. I was worried after seeing the preseason games. I know it’s good to not put too much stock in them for many reasons but now I see what we are capable of - if we can play up to that standard, we can stay in the race!

Ovbiously Ruccia was lights out…but thought Conrad looked great too. Last year I wasn’t a huge fan of his, kid couldn’t handle a puck and he was just sloppy…but tonight he carried the puck lots and made a few huge plays on the back check to break up scoring plays.
Also a fan of Jardine on the back end….liked Sumpf up front as a free agent add.

I wouldn’t begin to try to understand the rules with Euro rostering and protected lists. They are complicated and change every year. So maybe there is something with Goriunov where he can be rostered after a certain date and we can retain Radivojevic. Despite the fact Radivojevic didn’t come this year, they are still working on the file in hopes he eventually lands in the league. what is this list and why is November 1st the date? No idea. They had a Hulton interview on tonight’s Moose feed. What I said was the general idea of the part I caught

Ruccia has been very good. He was solid but Halifax made him look good several times. His problem is he drops early, which is why I'm surprised it took until round 8 for the moose too crack him. Fake the shot to freeze him and Deke. A couple guys tried it before Crosby but went high... I think Ruccia stopped kilfoil with the left pad which was a great save. I guess I can say the same about the Islanders in the in the shootout too. Rooster didn't have to work too hard on a couple of those lol. Still, great game. Tense. Two younger teams with lots of energy working hard. I think Halifax and Charlottetown are going to suffer from a similar issue tho in that that don't really have guys who can score consistently. Goals are going to be a grind most nights

It was a 5th rounder. That's no amount to lose faith over. Thats the cost of a depth overager. When you have lots of picks sure When you have basically none in the top 5 rounds its a waste if u toss one away on someone you dont even dress Anyways the radivojevic stuff is a pipedream for this year but if he were to come somehow then itd be a dman gone and that would be steen It would just be complicating assets but i dont feel like arguing over something unlikely to occur It was in 2026. 2 full years down the road. You're still in selling mode and will easily recoup a pick like that. Top 5 rounds used to have bigger meaning. Those days are long gone. 5th rounder is a nothing now. Especially that far away. As a fan we're almost irrational if we're mad about picks like that being moved for a current player or even a gamble on one. The team will be in position to acquire multiple 2026 5th rounders and during the 2026 5th round if there's a player there they want they will just move another future pick to get their player. The future of any Q team isn't changed over what future 5th/6th/7th round picks they decide to move.

Annoyed. You know exactly what I meant though. Why care at all about a 5th rounder? Even if it was given away and the guy never reported and it was an asset lost forever its still not worth ever thinking of again in a league where you'll probably go through multiple 5ths in and out of your asset list over the years in most drafts.

Here's the best I can figure. I must stress.... I'm guessing on this.... have not been talking to anyone in the loop with the info. I didn't see the interview that mentions Nov. 1 as important, but it seems to be central to Goriunov's place on the team.
With Radivojevic, when he does not report, I know we are able to place him on a special list where we can:
-replace him with another Euro (Goriunov) -retain his CHL rights
and while on this list, even in 2025 we can draft a Euro to replace his replacement (i.e. after Goriunov has aged out). So in 2025 we draft a new Euro and keep Voyaga or if Voyaga does not work out we draft 2 new Euros, plus be able to keep Radivojevic.
So maybe the Nov. 1 date is the day that Radivojevic can be declared a "no show" for this season. I'd guess that right now our Euros on paper are Voyaga and Radivojevic and when we pass the deadline we can use Goriunov to replace Radivojevic AND keep Radivojevic in our back pocked in case he does end up here in the future.
Of course, if Goriunov joins the team then we have to lose a 20 y/o player.
I mentioned in another post... the Euro rules are complicated, not posted anywhere, and change often. Chime in if you think I'm off the mark.... but that's my best guess what is up right now.
