Going to a halifax home opener you realize that the islanders are a micki mouse operation. Maybe one day they can be on that level but certainly not with current operations.

The atmosphere between halifax and charlottetown is like watching two different leagues. I can see why halifax is a premier team in this league and why charlottetown isn't. The fan experience matters and it's completely night and day. Players want to play in front of a good crowd, and charlottetown isn't that. If they want to realistically compete with the top of the league then they need to provide the players with a better experience, and providing the players with a better experience is providing the fans with a better experience. Honestly, I have been to many CHL markets and this is one of the worst fan experiences I have had. Halifax is on the same tier is one of the Premier locations in the CHL. It's a night and day difference.

Go check out some of the lesser arenas around the league… The eastlink Center is definitely far from perfect, but the updates to the rink/game day experience in the last 5ish years has gone a long way.

I agree with the above statment!. You're certainly entitled to your opinion; however, if you're happy with the current product that's on you. Seeing the difference between charlottetown and halifax, as well as teams from the ohl, you gain a different perspective. I agree, and said, that halifax is a top market in this league, but in my opinion I think it's best to strive for that. I don't know why that's something you would disagree with. As a fan of the team, you should want a better product from a fan perspective. Call me an idiot all you want, but the current state of the fan perspective for the islanders is at the bottom of the whay I've seen so far. If you're content with that, so be it. I'd like to see something better though.

It should be fairly easy to name a few since the product is so poor Have more than 3 concession stands. Have more than 1 concession stand open at 6pm. The others don't even open until puck drop. The main concession stand takes way too long and you can't order alcohol from there. Not raise your prices after two games. It should be set prices before the season starts. Only one place in the arena that has drought beer and it's craft beer. Have a better selection. The place that does have drought beer doesn't have food. There's no organization with the concessions and even the people working don't understand what's going on with their concession situation. People don't know when stuff is supposed to open. Have better lighting, and audio. Have more cameras, cause clearly they're missing plays if they don't show replays of penalties on the board. I wanna know what happened if I miss it. There should always be a replay of a penalty. Better songs that get people moving, like ymca and stuff like that. It's fun to watch people get engaged and move around in unison. A more engaged arena announcer. I think customer service from their communications coordinator needs to be much better but I don't go into details about that. There's a lot of ways they can improve the experience. This is a list I created on the top of my head hungover immediately upon waking up. I'm sure there's more I could think of at the arena.

Especially the concessions, the price and the 15 minute wait for fries when you’re first in line. It’s brutal.

More concessions? How would you like them to create more canteens…the rink is only so big, and it’s not a great set up to begin with. Beyond that, the team doesn’t even own the concessions, so I’m sure they have no control over prices, etc. As far as concession staff not knowing what’s going on…they’re all 17 year old girls…just order your food and move on Lights and audio? They were just upgraded a few years ago I believe…surely you weren’t a fan back then because you would certainly notice a major upgrade. There always seems to be replays, so I’m not sure what you’re paying attention to. It seems they cut the penalties that are reviewed so I’m sure there’s a reason.

Not one time have I personally attacked you or made a snide comment your way. This isn't personal against you and you need to stop being so defensive. I'm just asking for a better product for the money I am spending. I never blamed the young employees. Obviously it's management's fault that they don't have the information. You asked for one reason, and I gave you many. Let's just agree to disagree. Also, cupholders would be nice.

It is possible to express dissatisfaction with the location of the concession stands, what they offer for product, and the general product package at the Eastlink Centre....
....and...
.... to acknowledge that there are limitations on what can be realistically done in the existing building with the limitations due to space and overall layout.
I think the video production and the extras like lighting and audio are much improved compared to how they used to be and are pretty good.
The Scotiabank Centre in Halifax is an older building (even older than ours) but it has been extensively renovated for the Memorial Cup and World Juniors in recent years. Plus, you can't really compare the product in a 10 000 seat building in a city of 500 000 people to that in a 3700 seat building in a city of 40 000. There's never a way to make the comparison fair. If you go to a game in Quebec at the Videotron arena, it probably makes the Halifax product look horrible. When you go to an NHL game, it probably makes the major junior product look substandard. If you go to an NFL game, it probably makes the NHL production look like small potatoes.

I agree with the above statment!. I agree with all of this. You want a crap experience? Try Bathurst! Charlottetown, according to the numbers, is a small market team. And we are a very well performing small market team in terms of sales. Could it be better? Yes. I’m sorry you had a bad experience - I thought the home opener was one of the best we’ve been to in 3 years! Maybe once we have our upgrades done you’ll enjoy it more. But comparing Charlottetown to Halifax is just silly. Your market is bigger. The experience shouldn’t be the same. 🤷🏼♀️ That being said, we are about to put millions into renovations so I am sure it will be much better then.
