We're approaching the point where a couple of teams should be looking hard at 20s ASAP.
Rimouski needs more in net because St-Hillaire has been a lame duck.
There are a few teams that arguably should be working on D help now so they can avoid dropping unnecessary points.
Right now, Moncton is the only team I see that is clearly better than SJ with Drummondville being a team that might be. CB and Riki have warts that they need to fix.

I would say on the goalie front that Rimouski must be looking hard at Gravel. I’m not suggesting the Dogs should necessarily be dealing him but Rimouski is suffering in net and as the host team they need to firm that position up. I think Mateiko, Tivey and Gravel are the most likely to be dealt. And that is the order in which I’d prioritize trading them, BUT I wouldn’t feel that trading them was imperative - if a deal wasn’t I be the table that I liked I’d keep them and see if we can continue with that winning attitude that seems to be developing.

Drummondville should sell Woodworth and Mercer, but have a legitimate path to the 2 seed, so they might hesitate.
If they don't, Rimouski needs to be calling SJ and Halifax every day until one says yes.
I dont know CB's situation but if Schmitt is still out longterm, then a Mateiko and Tivey or Mann deal would make a ton of sense.
By the same token, Chicoutimi and Shawinigan would be strong candidates for OA D if an immediate upgrade was made.

If I were making deals like this,
For Gravel, I would need St-Hillaire and a bunch of picks now, with a second part at Christmas of something like Bilodeau plus picks for Pare and an option to acquire someone like St-Denis at the draft.
For Tivey, Shawinigan would make a ton of sense and they have picks and prospects. Trying to make something work around Chandler would probably be my goal.
I think Mateiko to CB makes a ton of sense with Zielinski coming back and picks (possibly Foley).
I would make sure that we somehow end up replacing the OA.

How the dogs are playing what do you ask if someone comes calling for Tivey or Gravel? If we move Tivey can our D hold up?

I am not sure what would be best at this time. What would you be asking for if you traded Tivey, Mann or Gravel? You would want something to improve the team next year and the year after so an 07 or 08. We could use another solid young D

I’d be highly shocked and disappointed if Gravel was moved. The reason for picking him up was to provide support to a very inexperienced goalie who only had 26 Q games under his belt.

We could use another solid young D I had posted it above but if Gravel goes, I'd want to have a way to acquire someone like Pare and I'd want the option to acquire one of their OA at the draft. For Tivey, I'd be targeting an 07 or 08. In both scenarios, it would be fine if SJ ends up moving picks in the long run if the fit works. Something else to note is that even if SJ moved both, I'd still want 2 OA D and an OA G here.

The team is playing well right now and needs some positivity around them. You ditch Gravel Tivey and Mann you’re back at the bottom of the basement IMO.

I think it’s a fine line what moves you make. I would only trade one between Tivey and Gravel. I think on younger D can handle more once they get back from injury.

SJ needs pieces for next year no matter what.
Simply taking the 3 20s away and aging the D by 1 makes for a bit of a scary D (with the caveat that SJ is light on 05s).

My suggestion hinged on a quality D coming back and hoping that St-Hillaire could find form behind the team. I would still be tempted to try to pry Buteau out of Bathurst if Tivey went though.

The Eagles haven't iced a healthy roster at any point yet in the regular season so it's hard to tell where the actual warts are. Brayden Schmitt was rumoured out until some time in November but that's all dependent on how he's healing as he has a grade 3 laceration on an internal organ (can't remember which one at the time of writting) from the car accident him, Fullerton and Romeo were in just before the regular season. Angelo Fullerton also hasn't play a single game yet this season as he's been out with a lower-body injury because of said accident. And Noah Larochelle has only recently started practicing again after an injury during training camp. Are there holes Couturier will have to sure up come the trade deadline most definitely but right now aside from maybe goaltending it's hard to tell how many holes will need to be fixed or if the Eagles will be force to sell cause of their slow start.
