I seen on Station Nation that the QMJHL will be going with Flosports to stream the games. I am hoping that this means things will be better for viewing. I am sure its just high school students that give their time to do the games at the station but man some of them are hard to watch. I remember a few times a big play happening like a break away and the camera go off to some kid in the stands. Hope that the new guys get some people that know what they are doing and make things much better

I believe all that will change is where the games are being shown. Staff will not change just games on flohockey. The only thing good about flohockey is you can watch other leagues.

I definitely have thought about volunteering to help run the in arena camera / video board. Feels like it's the only building in the Q that doesn't show replays of a save/shot/penalty/big hit etc. Only the goal right after.
Many times you'll see the away team look up at the board after a big play and there's nothing.

Yes when you watch games from Halifax for example its just like watching on TSN. Then games at TD the its like watching a high school game. Don't get me wrong, I think its great the kids offering up time, and learning about this stuff. But at the same time when you pay good money to watch the games online (and even like you said about the replays when you are in the building. Its just really bad

It is very frustrating to watch games online as the production is so bad. I would suggest it is close to being one of the worst in the league if not the worst. I can’t make all games because of work and try to watch games when on the road but it’s hard. I find myself always looking at the screen on home games after a big hit or save and nothing shown. The team should find out what it cost other teams in the maritime like Halifax and charlottetown to do a game and try and model their stream after it.

I agree the production has to be the worst in the Q. It just seems like its all over the place. One second on the play the next on some kid,(while play still going) then back to the play, then freezes ect. Again I understand they are prob high school students that give their time and not paid but I feel it is something that the team should look into hiring someone to do it better. It reminds me of the old fundy cable days watching the flames games. Very pour quality

The cost is obscene and laughable. Its junior hockey with less entertainment value then ever no matter when you started watching junior hockey.
Most people are using low cost services to get all their content for as low as $15/month or less.
Sportsnet+ costs $250 per year for every Sportsnet channel + every NHL game.
TSN+ is $199 per year for everything on TSN minus NHL regional games.
Flosports hockey is $203 per year ($16.99/month) if billed annually or $39.99 or $480 per year if billed monthly. Not $480 per year for EVERYTHING Flosports does. $480 just for Flohockey.
And someone was paid 6 figures to not only negotiate but to also tell us how great of a deal that is.

The Sea Dogs definitely has the worst broadcast in the league. Image quality is mediocre, no replays, camera person sometimes forgets to follow action. Game description is fine, but we need to get technologically wise to 2025! Also, interviews in between periods have to be recorded with an image, I mean radios days are way past due. Just show the interview instead of nothing, keep those minutes interesting. Show players interviews where they answer fans questions, talk where they are from, build a bird house...who cares ! anything to showcase our guys.
Flohockey is more expensive and you cannot share your login with your third down the road neighbor. Only one connection per IP (so unlimited in your house only). You will get more than you need hours of sport watching options.

It was bad enough having to pay for a league pass to only want 1 team, but Flosports will make me sign up for a bunch of leagues and sports I don't care about?

It's a joke. There will be many fewer eyes on the product at a time when they need to be promoting their league as much as possible.

I think it's a good move for the CHL to be under the same network. NCAA is available on ESPN/2 (probably not every games). Should our TSN/RDS or sportsnet jump on the wagon and show more than 3 games per season ? definitely even if they only show on their web apps.

TSN does show games on Tsn+ I believe until they show the finals and memorial cup on tv but that also could changed as well

But how many people wanting to watch the Saint John Sea Dogs in the QMJHL care about Flotrack or Flocheer? These are randomly segmented audiences coming together under 1 streaming package yet there's almost zero cross sport appeal for anyone just wanting to watch 1 team in 1 league which in the case of the QMJHL is probably 95% of the use case with it being hardcore fans and parents wanting to sign up. Its not like this is the NHL and MLB coming together to offer the highest tiers of sport to 1 audience. Its a pile of amateur and junior level sports that have local and regional appeal in small percentages. Its an awful deal for fans and will simply push more people to the black and grey market for the same content at a fraction of the price.
