So training camp starts on the 12th... any news of scrimmages, 4 on 4 tournament? The Cats site is always lacking with this information.

I'd assume you'll see intrasquad starting up a couple days after camp opens, leading up the first game on the 19th.
You can't even compare it to last season, since the Cats didn't even play their first pre-season game until almost two weeks into camp.

Hopefully the start of the isn't too important cause Adam Bezak won't be reporting till the 18th at the earliest.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that it won't hurt him but it's not the end of the world I agree. But coming to a new country and joining a new team when you only know one player. At least if he was there for the first few days he could participate in the ice breaking and get to know a few guys which could make him feel more comfortable in camp.

You know with MacAusland, Dimitruk, Euros, Brannon plus others showing up, this team is going to be right in there. Next two years are going to be real interesting as well. This could be even more interesting than last year. I'm not saying we will have as many points, just that this team is going something for the next two years.

I don't know if we will get as many points as we did last year, but I don't think we'll finish as low as some people predict we will. We have a good batch of returning players. Our defence scares me though. Losing Ouskun, Welton, MacDonald & possibly Emanuelle ( would like to see him return as a 20, but I heard he was going to Acadia this season .. ) those are pretty big shoes to fill. Hopefully Barberio & Pianosi can step up. I am really excited to see how this team does, because they do have potential.

I don't think we will have as many points as last year just for the simple fact that there really are no more "gimmie" games. SNB and SNL are going to be much improved and CB is not going to be a push over either. I do think we are going to see a regular or two from last season not make this squad (Not including the 20's either) up front. It is going to make for some interesting intersquad and exhibition games.

what are the chances of Phil Mangan making the team?

what are the chances of Phil Mangan making the team? I put them at 50/50, maybe a little better ... It appears he would be battling with Lincourt for our third overager spot, with Marquardt and Morehouse seeming like locks, and Emmanuele and Sniderman fading from contention. I think Mangan could potentially be a 90 point man this year, especially on a line with Marquardt.

I'm just thinking out loud, but I think Mangan would be worth more than Lincounrt to other teams right now.
The Cats could take advantage of Lincourt being a bit undervalued by letting him show what he can do during the first half of the season, then trading him later.
Buy low, sell high, all that jazz....

I agree with curtis. Lincourt showed what he is capable of in last seasons playoffs IMO. If he can play that way for the first half of the season he could end up being a 80-90pt player as well. If Cameron steps up his game and use him as the no.1 center. It would be a lot of pressure for him but he seems like he could handle it. I would love to watch Lincourt,Mangan and Marqhardt tear it up the first half though.

Great thanks for the feedback. Id like to here see Sniderman in a mariners uniform this season.
