It doesn't mean he won't either Correct ... but what it does mean is that the pre-season results should not be used for making regular season predicitions ... and that is the entire point being made. Agreed.

Where did you see predictions into this thread? You are making a totally irrelevant remark here! What I am saying is that Faille made a strong case for himself to be looked at for a spot on the 2nd line. It does not mean he will play 2nd line if the Coach chooses not, nor does it predict that he will be successful, but he sure would be worth a try. We got to remember here that Francoeur did not know any of the Titan players 1 month ago and he will go by what he sees and the comments from his assistants and management. So far Faille has been our #1-#3 best forward depending on the game.

A great example of that is what Triston Manson did in the preseason for Lewiston last year and what he did in the regular season. In the preseason he had 4 goals in 4 games. In the regular season he had 3 goals in 60 games. But David Perron had 13 points in 7 games in the preseason. It was a good indicator of what he was going to do. Preseason points may or may not show what will happen in the regular season. Faille may have a breakout year and his preseason totals may be showing that. Or then again...... maybe not. It just isn't a reliable data base to make predictions from.

Everybody knew from day 1 in Lewiston that Manson was acquired for a specific role....while Perron was tried out and had upside to his game. Faille is a very good defensive player, everybody knows that and he can play effectively on PK and 3rd line. On the other hand he did show a very offensive side of his game at this year's camp, something he had already showed in the midgets..... All I am saying that Faille would be surely worth a try on the 2nd line.....

All I am saying that Faille would be surely worth a try on the 2nd line..... Now there is a statement I can accept. If he looks good he could be worth trying on the second line. And I really do hope he continues to play well as he was a player that I liked from your team last season. Personally I wasn't thinking next season's replacement for Bartos but certainly a solid hockey player.

My post had nothing to do with roles the players had.

Nobody said that Faille was gonna score 100.........just that he had a great camp and might deserve a look on the 2nd line......I don't see any points predictions anywhere.

I never made any point predictions either. Just pointed out that putting up points in the preseason doesn't automatically translate into being a point producer in the regular season. And I'm assuming you would want whoever is on the top 2 lines to produce.

The point is that the Titan intend to do just that: find a replacement for Bartos internally as pointed out in l'Acadie Nouvelle this morning. It has to be one of Joly/Grenache/Mailloux/Faille/Jezegou. For Francoeur, Faille was the one who got noticed the most in preseason.
But it all depends on which combo will work out and no doubt that different experiments will be tried before fitting the right combo.

You guys are no longer a contender ... you are not even two lines deep now.

Another guy that seems to have been left out of the discussion for 2nd line is Jezegou.....Jez/Clen/Masse had a couple awesome shifts the other night against SJ....totally dominated for the whole time they were out there....I wouldn't be against trying Messier on the wing beside Perreault and Svoboda and leaving that 2nd line together.......
Perreault/Svoboda/Messier Masse/Clendenning/Jezegou Faille/Grenache/Mailloux Joly/Critchlow/Legros/Lambke/Couture.........
We still have the depth there to have 2 very good scoring lines, a very solid checking line that will also put some in the net and a 4th line that could play a checking role on a lot of teams this year with the right combo of them.....

Pk, what is your beef against Joly?
He is a much better scorer than half the guys on 3rd above him.
