At least Brannon had a sweet hit. I thought he did ok but what can you expect. There was a lot of "puck in the feet" tyoe plays tonight. Everyone seemed off and are still fighting for position. I was really disappointed with Boyle tonight. He and Goyens were trying to do too much on their own. I am sure it is some of the pressure to show the staff what they can do but there were too many give aways from those plays.

Bezak and Sil looked good tonight. And Lavigne did reasonably well. Watson even scored the winner on the shootout but someone needs to tell him to swing in a fight Wilson looked ok IMO but Brannon is a little disappointing. Lincourt hit the bar twice but still seems to coast a lot. I agree with you on Bezak & Sill. They looked really good tonight. I'm really impressed with Bezak. Watson semi saved his ass in the shootout. Wilson, IMO, played a good game, seems like a good player. I say he will make the team. I disagree with you about Brannon. He stood out to me tonight. He didn't really impress me with his playmaking skills, but this guy played a really physical game tonight. One hit sticks out, where he steamrolled over a SeaDogs player.

I thought Watson created a few chances for his linemates but they were not finished off, I'd like to see him with Mangan and another skill guy next game, I think he is a guy that has to play with skill players.

Players I thought didn't have the best games .. since everyone is talking about who played well & who didn't.
Goyens - Hmm. Last year when we got him, the first month or so, I really liked him. I thought we got a steal of a deal. Ever since then, not impressed at all with his play. He's very slow & I find he panicks when he has the puck. Tonight, same thing.
Tolles - I was interested in seeing what this guy would bring to the team. Last year we didn't see much of him, but after watching him thus far in camp, I've realized that he tries to do too much. He's always trying to make the fancy play. Someone should really tell him that he's not Keith Yandle..
Boyle didn't impress me tonight. From what I seen from him in camp so far, which isn't too much, he seemed like he might have a chance at a spot. Not so sure.
Little - Got into a fight tonight. Didn't fair to well. Stayed on his feet long enough to get a bloody nose. His balance lost him that fight.
For Saint John .. the players that stood out for me were : Depres, DoDomenico, Anthony, Stitch.

all 4 played not good at all I think we'll keep 2, probably Boyle & Tolles Maybe only 1, if they keep Herr but can't see that happening Everyone saying Eastman will make it, i been to rink 4-5 times since camp started, never saw him, I don't think, when will he be back from injury?

I saw him wearing a suit.... I'm curious to see how he compares to Gomes and Wilson on the ice.

I found Lincourt played a very strong game tonight..maybe wearing a letter encouraged him to stay focused for 60 mins. ;D Wilsons hockey sense reminds me of A.Macdonald so much its not even funny!! That pass from his own hash marks to Bezak for the 3rd goal (sent him in all alone) was a beauty.

yea, Lincourt played a good game, thought wilson was best D, dimitruk looked like he was nervous in 1st then settled down...Thought Boyle played good in 1st but in 2nd & 3rd wasn't good at all....Goyens is too slow for the Q, Tolles thinks he's Yandle & tried to pinch way too much & then he gets caught, it will be interesting to see who #7 & #8 D will be!!! 1-Barberio 2-Pianosi 3- Baca 4- Wilson 5-Dimitruk 6- Eastman *if healthy* 7- Gomes 8-

If you look at the possible D-pairings it seems as though Flynn has some pretty set pairs already.... Demitruk-Wilson Barbario-Pianosi Gomes-Baca 7th goes to Eastman and 8th who knows...Tolles (seems to get along great with teamates???) In MHO the first 6 will see all the ice-time anyways and if injuries occur...the remaining 5-4 D will see increased ice-time ;D

I was impressed with Brannon. I think we got a good deal traidng away Bourdon for him..Very physical...and hitts like Bourdon... It was a hard game to watch..Players still fighting for spots and alot of indiviual play...Not aot of flow to the game...miss passing and everyone seem to be out of possition alot... But its nice to see the cats back on the ice...

Could anybody who was at the game last night give a few thoughts on #1 overall pick Simon Despres. His goal was a beauty. Lots of traffic in front, Lavigne couldn't see a thing and he snipped a snap shot top corner. As for the game, it's exhibition so it was normal to see passes in the skates and such. They Wildcats haven't had a practice yet, they are waiting to have their team made. Their ice time has been more for evaluating then practice and putting the system in place. You're living a fairy tale if you except to see consistent tape to tape passes in our second exhibition game.
