IMO, I think letting Lamoureux go was a HUGE mistake. Yea, he might not be a legit Q heavyweight, but I think he would be the best candidate of an " enforcer " on this team. I just hope they don't end up keeping Herr. Lamoureux is also only 18 so, I would have kept him.

I think he could turn into a Lariviere, I think the Cats will regret trading him unless they have something up their sleve other than Herr.

I think they need to do what they did with Spencer. Go out West or Ont and find one. Spencer's hockey skills got much better as the year went on. You don't need someone who can score but at least skate and cost us very little. I think you will see something like that comming. Flynn didn't seem to happy about the game in Saint John. (I wasn't either but I am a fan not the coach.)

I know they are deep up front but you have to find a guy like him to play 40-50 games against the most tough/physical teams.

I think Lamoureux could have done the job but he has been dealt and I don't think Herr is the guy. I will give him credit he did try to get into a few scraps in Saint John before he finally found a taker, where as Lamoureux waited until the dying minutes of the game. Either way we will hopefully see what Flynn had up his sleeve cause I am pretty sure he is not happy with the grit and toughness of the team at present, which is why I am surprised he traded Lamoureux. I would rather have a winger as a tough guy and not a D man.

I agree. There's no point in looking for another guy,we had our guy. He's good enough skill wise to play in this league,he's 18,he has good size(something we already lack) and he's not scared to drop if he has to. Sure a guy like Morehouse or Sill can provide a bit of team toughness, but does anybody actually think that they're going to scare anybody?Sometimes it doesn't take a guy to drop the gloves and pound somebody.....if the guy is already reputed as being a good fighter all it takes most of the time is for him to go and give a little talking to the player in question...a warning. If a little kid like Morehouse goes and gives a talking to somebody they're just going to laugh at him because they know its all talk no action....and even if there is action they know they'll just get to pound on him. I don't care if they have King Kong lined up as our enforcer. They still made a huge mistake,we had our guy who by next year when we need him even more would've been 19....a perfect age for an enforcer. As a season ticket holder from day 1 of the Alpines I am very disapointed in this decision.I know there is more to hockey than just fighting but Remy Lamoureux should be on this team,no questions asked.Oh well at least we can watch a quality "FAMILY entertainement" oriented product and not have to worry about anybody seeing a fight at a hockey game. Danny Flynn get your head out of you know where!!!!

Did anyone consider the possibility that Lamoureux had asked for a trade?

Did anyone consider the possibility that Lamoureux had asked for a trade? A player ask for a trade out of Moncton that's impossible EDIT" I just checked and it says that Lamoureux's hometown is Malartic(QC) which coincidently is a 1/2 hour from Vd'o

I don't think Flynn does not want to go through this season without a tough guy. Before you pass judgement lets wait and see if he has anyting in store. I have faith that he will do what is needed. Hopefully my faith is well placed.

Is there a cutoff date as to when you can add players that aren't on your protected list?

I checked the exhibition game summaries from last year and this year and Lamoureux only actually fought once, which was last sunday in Bathurst. How do we even know that he was interested in being an enforcer or that he's a good fighter? I think some people here are overrating him. We finished fourth in the league last year without an enforcer. We still don't have one but the team has only got tougher. I'd rather have Herr as the tough guy and take ice time away from Gomes and Eastman than Lamoureux be the tough guy and take ice time away from Brown and McAusland.
