Whats his option if he signed here? It rules him out for NCAA, but is there somewhere else he can play? How good is the USHL league?

I think I read he can appeal his NCAA eligibility, and maybe only lose a year.
I don't know where he would consider playing this year. USHL is probably at last Junior A level.....I think it is common for guys to play there to prepare for NCAA.

If you back up to the I'm gonna get ripped for this one comment re his father and think about the comments made by his father in the T & T re a great possibility that he'll be back next year...you gotta think his has nothing to do with NCAA vs Q. Ok the horse is dead, beatin it ain't gonna help. ;D

I really don't think we'll see him back. If it's not this year, I don't think it ever will. As I said, I had a convo with him and it's pretty much about his parents think for his sake that going to college is better for him. The only thing I don't get is why would his parents let him have come in the first place, and if there is something they seen that they didn't like, what was it?

How long do you think Flynn and company are going to wait before they try to talk some sense into his father? Next spring???

The organization must have shown and explained everything in order for Dimitruk to sign. He's practiced with the team, played in an exhibition.... They know the Cats want him back. The ball is in the Dimitruk's court.

Sounds like "buyer's remorse". If I were team management, I would still keep working the issues, grease the skids on any concerns, and he may return this season. In my opinion, Moncton is now the clear best option (in view of the NCAA eligibility issues), and you might as well give it a go.
It will be harder to return next year, since all of this years prospects in the Q will progress a full year, while skating somewhere else you will progress only 50% or so. So next year's training camp will be brutal to make the team.

One would think that they put so much into trying to get this young guy here. That they would keep working on his family... You would think his stock would go down sitting or playing in lower ranks for the year. If he father is so concerned about his sons future you would have thought he would take that into consideration.

Warriors are pretty good. Similar to playing a season in a Canadian Jr A league. But it is not like a year in the Q!

For future reference, if you are undecided on NCAA/QMJHL, come to training camp, pay your own way, and do not play any exhibition games that have another QMJHL team on the ice (other than the one you are trying out for). You can play all the intersquad games (members of the same team you are trying out for) you wish. That will eliminate all this eligibility unpleasantness.
