I only saw the 3rd period, but the big guns really didn't play much of it......Perreault had about 3 shifts in the 3rd........made some really nice plays with Svoboda though......looks like they might work out ok together.........Faille was the best player on the ice for the 3rd and from the looks of the scoreboard he also played a solid 1st and 2nd........Francoeur could have run up the score if he wanted to, but instead mixed the "younger" vets in with a couple young guys for most of the 3rd....... I think our three 16yo's ,Coté,Critchlow and Bernier all had a good game tonight.. so do I.....

Faille played a great game tonight. Critchlow had a nice outing, shifts weren't nearly as long as the night before. Showed great anticipation and broke up some plays by getting his stick on the puck. Perreault-Svoboda combo looked good together. On his two goals I don't think the puck spent a second combined on his stick as he one-timed 2 great passes from mathieu to the back of the net. The Lewy goalie stopped a few other attempts with one notable save in the third on a tic-tac-toe across the slot pass-shot. Legros played a decent game (his last two were much better than the first game) and showed what he is here for by getting into the face of a Maineiac after the player took a jab at Perreaut with his stick wayyyy after the whistle.
On the Lewiston side not much to say as they were chasing the puck pretty much all night.

and you will be chasing the puck all night when you're playing all rookies against 13 vets in the lineup. You really can't judge your team until you play a team with their vets in the lineup as well.

I concur with you..... I heard that the next two games would be a mixture of rookies and vets on both sides.....which will be a much better indicator of what both teams have as depth. It will be very interesting match ups...I wish I could see them.

Didn't judge my team, knew the game would be like this as soon as I picked up the lineup sheet on way in. It was nice to see the vets on the ice though as the previous 2 games there wasn't much in the way of teamwork out there. Pretty sloppy IMO. I expect this weekends games to be better and kinda wish the Titan played the first few on the road, made a few cuts, then came back home for the majority of them. Now I only have 2 pre-season games left before the ones that count start. To me if you are charging money for games there should be a few vets in them all, the first two games were no better than intra-squad scrimmages except with inadequate refereeing and having to pay $10 a game. The flow of the game was much better (with only 1 ref) instead of the 2 ref system. Funny how on the previous 2 nights the ref 2 feet away from a play, looking right at it, didn't make penalty calls (for both teams) but the guy at center ice sees something he feels is a penalty. Makes the closer ref look bad IMO, especially when he looks at the other ref like he didn't think there was any infraction on the play.

Which team was playing all rookies last night? On the Lewiston side, Machalik played 47 games in the Q last season, Chinova already played two seasons in the Q before, one in Québec and one in Drummondville, Charlie Pens played 23 games with CB last season, Dave Taylor played 61 games in Lewiston last season....

Which team was playing all rookies last night? Replace the all with mostly and you still would get the same result.

Tuesday night we had "2" vets, and they were David Taylor & Michalik. Not to say it would of been different, but yes I think it would of been different

Not to say it would of been different, but yes I think it would of been different Most everyone knows that Lewiston didn't have many veterans playing but you are exaggerating just a tad by saying it was an 'all rookie team'. And the score doesn't matter in the preseason, nor who the other team dressed. It's about evaluating the players and maybe it helped Harding in his evaluation to see the rookies play versus a stronger team. The game might have been a better evaluation tool for Lewiston than Bathurst. The Titan don't really need to evaluate Perreault nor Svoboda.

fair enough, I was pointing out the returnees from last year and not thinking about Pens & Chinava. But was not trying to insinuate anuthing on who had the most rookies out there and I'm sorry if you thought it that way. Hell it's a pre season game, a "check what kind of talent we have" game, that's all. Should be a fun season this year in this league, anyway.
