Find it hard to believe the schedualing this week
Too many games for a pro team, never mind Jr. hockey
There should be a three game per week maximum.........it could have to do with schedualing conflicts at the Colesium as well??

No ... they try to cram most games into the weekend so the players can focus more on their school work during the week ... its been this way now for 3 or 4 years.
At least we aren't traveling 7 hrs in between games like some of the Quebec road trips.

I think this also has something to do with the owners asking for more weekend games for better attendance.

We are playing 5 games in 7 nights. From Wed night at home to Tues in CB. That is a lot of hockey to play in a week. Its a good thing we have 2 extra D men and 2 extra forwards. (not including Macausland as he is still out for awhile.) I am sure they will be rotated in and out over the course of the next 5 days.

Wow, the Q site is faster than a speeding bullet (sorry I watched Superman yesterday). Moncton 2 PEI zip. For the fans from Bathhhhhursssst, that means Moncton wins and yes our school system is fine.

I thought Moncton had an all around decent game, played well in their own end, did alot of the lil things right, did what they needed to do to win... I can't see Jean lasting much longer as coach of PEI good to see Riopel have a good game!

Baca seemed to have a decend game, just some nervous shifts. Anyone at the game can confirm ?

Baca seemed to have a decend game, just some nervous shifts. Anyone at the game can confirm ? Precisely what I was thinking. He had a few mental lapses but nothing compared to Herr. Another thing I noticed is he LOVES to hit. He plays the body sometimes when he should play the puck but he'll only improve. I hope he can consistently stay in the lineup, especially as opposed to Boyle,Gomes and Herr.

Very good effort by the Cats tonight. I was expecting it to be very rough with maybe the yearly Moncton/PEI line brawl taking place, but it was pretty tame. I'm almost dissapointed that PEI didn't play their best cause I was hoping for a close back and forth game but it definitely could have been that if it weren't for Riopel. He played a great game but now the big test is to see if he can follow it up with another big game cause consistency has been his biggest problem.
Marquardt has been impressing quite a bit since his return. I'm almost starting to expect at least one highlight reel goal from him every game. He's going to be making a lot of defencemen look bad this year.
Morehouse's line missed so many opportunities tonight, especially Sill. He'll probably develop more finish as he adjusts but Morehouse usually capitalizes on his chances and Brannon was a big scorer in Midget. The bad ice also had a big part in it though. I'm confident this line will contribute more as the season moves along.
Gomes looked better this game and he showed he made some more nice passes. I think he'll be fine as long as he doesn't try to do too much. Baca also looked okay but he's gonna have to improve his first pass as he missed often enough. He's not scared to shoot though and that's good cause nobody ever wanted to shoot from the point last year. It's painful to watch Pianosi start a breakout, he takes like 10-15 seconds every time. And they usually end up failing anyways. I remember he was like that last year too. I think he waits for everything to be perfect but he's even doing it on the powerplay when there isn't even an opponent waiting for him in front of the net. hope they work on this through the year cause it's really slowing down the transition game. They're never gonna catch the other team offguard with 15 second breakouts.
Not that I really care, but Hodge had some weird 3 star selections. Riopel is obvious but I think MacLellan stood out more than Brannon or Eastman.

I thought the 3rd and 4th lines played really well. The 4th liners are showing they want to stay in the lineup...Brown had an especially solid game, I thought. I'd like to see Labelle in place of Brenton, but he'll certainly have to earn the ice time.

I thought Brown played well as well. Had some good flashes. I thought the Morehouse-Sill-Brannon line was very good tonight. Giving PEI fits for a good part of the night. Riopel was solid. I figure he will get tomorrow off and then play again on Sunday in Bathurst. I didn't think PEI looked too good, but if it's true about the flu, then it's semi excusable I guess. I thought Lafleur was good though. It could've been more then a 2-0 win IMO. I thought Baca played good. He did have some off shifts, but like a few of you said, nerves were a lot to do with it. Can someone tell me why Eastman was a star? I thought the stars should've been.. Marquardt/Brannon, Lafleur, Riopel.

I can't see Jean lasting much longer as coach of PEI good to see Riopel have a good game! Yeah, what was up with his yelling fit in the 3rd? Moncton got called on the penalty and he yelled for about 30 seconds at (what seemed the be) the refs while his players skated up ice... the ref clearly had his arm up and PEI had possession so it was clear Moncton was getting called... I was up in 31/M and could hear him loud and clear over all the other racket in the rink.
