Hard to believe the Dogs are at the top of the list for Goals Against. Albiet they played 10 games, still nice to see. Crazy that the mighty PEI Rocket allowed double what the dogs allowed. Perhaps you didn't notice the thread title ?

The charts say that Riopel and the defense and the defensive forwards have done a good job at goals against. We would have even better GA if our team didn't collapse in front of Riopel in the last minute in at least three games. It would be nice to see Riopel not have to shoulder so much of the load but if he isn't a draft scouts eyes now than I don't know what he will have to do.
The problem isn't just the defenses breakout, its the offense. We have the second worst GF and Val Dor won't be behind us long. They lack any ability to crack the oppositions defense. Marquardt and occasionally Mangan and Eagles will make a outside drive for the nets but it usually doesn't get to far.
I have every confidence that Flynn and friends will fix the breakout I've seen them do it in the past, but I'm concerned that we will ever this year have the lines that can create legitimate offense. In the past we relied on Defense to do this but we had amazing defensemen back then. Few teams have the luxury of the offensive defensemen we had. Sure we might not fix it for this year but do we have to live with it again next year? When do we start changing out players to guarantee that next year we are where we want to be? Torchetti changed out players all through last year and it probably kept everyone fighting for his job. Is it a little to cushy for Morehouse/Eagles/Mangan/Marquradt right now?
