What's going on with him? All the hype about him comming over to the CHL and it seems he can't make the transition to North American hockey very well. Whats going on? You can't put the blame on your defence, or the defence at the Top Prospects game (where he also didn't play so well).
Right now Jake Allen is playing better then Robert Mayer.
Whats the deal?

That's what I would like to know..he's been playing very poorly lately..ever since the prospects game his play has dropped. Let's hope he picks it up, or we're not in too good of a situation for next year..

He was a good sport for tonights game. The BMW kept picking at him all game long and then he finally turns around and waves to BMW.

Inconsistency is to be expected of a 17 YO goalie, this should improve over time.

Sea Dogs = great white hype & first round washouts. Whatta load of garbage! This has what to do with Mayer? What's funny is the amount of Tit's fans posting in a thread about Robert Mayer who might have watched a couple of his games all year. |

Mayer's got skills, everyone who has seen him play knows that. He's been very inconsistent though, and I wonder if the long haul of a 70 game schedule is taking it's toll. This type of schedule is likely more than he's ever encountered, though admittedly I don't know what his schedule consisted of before he came to Saint John.
Either way, I'm thrilled we kept Fullerton, and I really think Mayer will come back next season in a big way.

According to an interview with him on hockeysfuture.com in January he said he is playing about the same amount he was in Switzerland. IMO it's one of two things he was either way over hyped before he came over or he is having a really had time adjusting to the NA style game. One thing is certain tho he needs to get this worked out for next year or you guys are this years Moose Heads of next season. |
