Hard to evaluate a game against a team as bad as Drummondville. I am glad they got the win, and I am glad they clinched their first ever playoff berth, but I can't wait until Rouyn-Noranda come to Harbour Station on Friday. If the dogs can win that game they would really prove to themselves that they could beat anybody, and hopefully give them a lift for the rest of the season and into the playoffs.

Fullerton has gotta be the front runner now great game very solid in goal tonight. I know the Volts would be geared up for this game and they showed it this was the biggest game of the year for them and they played their gutz out tonight.
Good to see the guys from Sportsnet did their homework and read the story on Howes. I thought they called a great game and hope they do another one real soon.

Dogs secure playoff spot Hockey 5-2 win over Drummondville gives Saint John first shot at title
Andrew McGilligan Telegraph-Journal Published Monday February 11th, 2008 Appeared on page B8
DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - Saint John Sea Dogs fans will remember Feb.10, 2008. That's the date the team clinched its first ever Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff berth with a 5-2 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Sunday's win was the only one the team could muster during a three-game road trip through Quebec.
Payton Liske, Keven Charland, Scott Howes, Alex Grant and Chris Di Domenico had one goal each for Saint John while Mike Hoffman had both Voltigeurs goals.
The Sea Dogs kicked off the three-game road trip with a poor effort in a 7-2 loss to the Victoriaville Tigres on Friday. On Saturday, it was the penalty kill that let down Saint John in a 6-4 loss to the Shawinigan Cataractes. On Sunday, the teams traded goals 30 seconds apart in the first as Liske scored shorthanded for the Sea Dogs before Hoffman's pass hit a Saint John defender and past starter Travis Fullerton for a 1-1 tie.
Saint John reclaimed the lead at 16:46 on Charland's 15th goal of the season. The lead stayed 2-1 in favour of Saint John through 20 minutes.
The Sea Dogs added to the lead at 16:54 of the second period. Howes, fresh out of the box, took a feed from Pascal Amyot and went in alone on Drummondville goalie Michael Dupont. Sea Dogs captain Grant made it 4-1 when he one-timed a Howes feed in the slot past Dupont for a power-play marker at 8:54 of the final period. The Sea Dogs are back on home ice Wednesday against the Moncton Wildcats at 7 p.m.

Congrats on Saint John making the playoffs for the first time and would not surprise me for years to come.It would not surprise me if Sportsnet makes a trip to harbour Station in the near future if not the playoffs as they no also that this team is the team of the future. They did good research on this team from the Howes story to how this team is trying to get the fans back into Harbour Station.over all job well done

Was out of town for work but caught the game with an old CIS coaching friend of mine. I stated that the Volts put up a great fight last night but he is more of the opinion that for the last month the Dogs have fallen back to the pack rather then the other teams getting better. It could be a matter of playing to the level of your competition but a true test will be this Friday. It has been a good month now since we have played good hockey and out PK has been figured out by the rest of the league. Let's see what JB can do to snap the boys out of this and get us back to where we were a month ago.

for the most part fullerton has been consistantly good and im not sure if the jb comments were a smoke screen to try and get mayer playing better or not but imo fullerton has been and is the #1
as for the game i thought it was a good game for both sides certainly didnt look like a last place team we were playing and i dont think we played down to there level i think they stepped it up a notch
