Thought I would set up a new subject to see who the fans of the QMJHL think will win the coach of the year.As some know who I am picking not because he is from Ontario but I feel this coach (Jacque Belieau )has taken this team this year to a contender statis if not this year next year for sure.He has taken this team to a ranked team in the CHL rankings not bad for a team only 3 years in the league. If he is not nominated or does not win I will be surprised. What do you the fans of the Q think.

Not sure who this Jacque Belieau character is, but I personally feel Jacques Beaulieu will take coach of the year honors.

Sorry for the spelling mistake of Jacque Beaulieu but I was in a hurry when posting this.

His coaching is the same as last season when the team was shit so is that all his fault? I don't think so. Like I said he's not coach of the year no matter how good a season the Dog's are having. Now if there was a GM of the year or something like that he would be the front runner.

I think Pascal Vincent is the right choice. Like Markofthebeast said, he did more with less.

Ditto here You bring a team from last to first even if we don't finish there we should still finish in the top 2 player progression sure but someone has to coach them for them to progress last time I checked.

How about Ben Groulx and Richard Martel? Patrick Roy?
IMPO this contest for Coach of the Year will be much tighter than these 2 names only.

CB were picked to be dead last by most, and look where they are. Saint John missed the playoffs two years in a row, and now they are competing for first overall. Gatineau, Quebec and Chicoutimi havent been much of a surprise.

GM of the year would be JB for sure but I am not sure about coach. I think that this will be decided in the next month. The sledding is tough for JB right now and how is he going to handle it. Also any great coach will tell you that if you re not given the right players it does not matter who you have coaching. When I was in university I had a great coach and professor and his saying was you "can't polish shit". No matter who we had for a coach our first year that team was just plain bad. This year we went out and spent a lot of money on guys and brought in some decent players. My vote would be for the guy who has an average team with potential and makes them rise above that level. Let's see how things play out over the next month. One month ago I would have said JB for sure but right now I am not so certain. I think we peaked too soon and now we have to pay. If things turn around and we start to dominate again then JB is in the top two or three. If we continue to struggle he drops out of that group. We have struggled with every team lately and I don’t think we have beaten a team with an over .500 record in a while.

I wouldn't be shocked if Pascal Vincent won both coach and GM of the year awards after the amount of talent he lost to the professional ranks and the near unanimous last place predictions in the pre-season to have the team anywhere near the top teams is a minor miracle.

Predictions are made all the time it doesn't mean they are always right. CB is going to finish a few spots higher but so are the Sea Dogs sure people had the Eagles finishing at or near the bottom but the Dogs weren't ranked to high in many predictions either. If the Eagles were predicted to finish 7th and finish 3rd that's pretty much the same as the Dogs if they were to finish 2nd many pegged them to finish in about 6th same thing only finishing higher in the standings.
