I think Steve Anthony should be a scratch for next game. He left his game in London, and has played poorly the last couple of games. He has the skills, but maybe the long season is getting to him. There has been talk on this board that we should trade Despres next year for scoring, but I think he's quietly becoming one of our top defencemen. Out of Grant and Sauve, I would pick Despres anyday over these two defencemen. Despres should be at least invited to the Canadian World Junior Team next year. He is that good. I know Grant is the quarterback of the powerplay, but I think you should insert Despress for Didomenico as the other point man and move Dido up to forward, and you will see the powerplay improve.

There has been talk on this board that we should trade Despres next year for scoring, but I think he's quietly becoming one of our top defencemen.. I hear ya when you say that, Simon Despres is a real blue chipper you can see it in the way he skates with and without the puck. Very effortless yet powerful strides and very smart. He will be a real force in a couple of years at 18/19 I couldn't see him going anywhere.....the comments I remember reading about him being "tradebait" came from a couple of wishful thinking out of towners I'm sure . To the game...again we seem to come out flat and play about half a game. The same thing happened in the Bathurst game on Wed. nght, the first was real flat and the guys looked to get into it after Paris scored on the powerplay. As we get closer to the playoffs they're going to have to come out ready from the puckdrop......we have the bulleye on us every time we hit the ice, it doesn't matter what level of play ....you always go hard after the top team. Liske with the game winner again....way to go Peyton two games in a row with the winner, and no game star selection in either game.....keep up the hard work big guy. I don't know if it's just because of the games in Nfld. when everybody was bitchin' so much about it or if I just never noticed before or what....But Dido does seem to be getting a big attitude....come on Dido get back to the hard work going both ways and less worrying about what you can't change...nuf said....oh yeah, a good shift is 45 or 50 seconds, not 90. Kevin Charland congrats. on the offensive outbreak, nice shot on that second goal....keep it goin'. Howes and Hooper continue to produce points ...where would we be...great aquisitions in getting these guys so "cheap" as Canucklehead has repeatedly reminded the Marchand camp.lol Felt bad for Fullerton those were both shots he usually would have had...not that they were easy but usually. It was nice to see Mayer start up where he left off against the Tit an, as someone said this could be the point where he's given the ball to run with ....so to speak. I was saying the same thing at the game... that Fullerton might have just lost his job. Time will tell, either way I think we are ok in goal.
