I think the Dogs surprised themselves tonight with that outburst. However I would have to think that Bathurst is quite disappointed. Well all I can say is better them than us. Hope the boys are ready for the next two and everyone remains healthy.

After being on the other end of blowouts its nice to be on the other side. The Titan were one of those teams that would put their top line out on the power play late in the game when they had the game well in hand. I believe PEI also did it. Well they've both had their asses kicked. Paybacks a bitch isn't it.

SEA DOGS DEMOLISH TITAN Saint John Improves to 23-10-1-2 With 9-2 Road Win Over Acadie-Bathurst
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, December 28, 2007
BATHURST, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs opened their second-half schedule in style on Friday night, annihilating the Acadie-Bathurst Titan by a score of 9-2 at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre to earn their 23rd victory of the season.
Ryan Sparling, Payton Liske, Keven Charland (2), Chris DiDomenico (2), Scott Howes (2), and Alexandre Picard-Hooper all scored for Saint John in the blow out win, while Tomy Joly scored both of the Titan’s goals in a losing effort. Picard-Hooper also picked up four assists in the contest to tie his own team record for points in a game with five. Additionally, the team’s seven-goal win ties a franchise record for largest margin of victory.
Travis Fullerton picked up the win in net for Saint John while Acadie-Bathurst net minder Antoine Tardif was credited with the loss.
The Sea Dogs scored an early 1-0 lead on Friday night when Chris DiDomenico tallied his 27th goal of the season just 0:58 into the first period with Payton Liske and Ryan Sparling both picking up assists on the play.
The Titan responded on the power play at the 7:38 mark of the match, with Tomy Joly netting his 24th goal of the year to tie things up at one apiece.
Saint John retook the lead 0:50 later when Keven Charland banged a rebound past a sprawling Tardif after a David Stich point shot took a generous bounce off of the Titan net minder. The visitors then went up by two with 2:30 remaining in the opening frame when Payton Liske earned his fifth goal of the year by virtue of a well-placed shot that found its way to the back of the Acadie-Bathurst net.
The home team pulled back to within one of the Sea Dogs 1:27 later when Drew Paris set Joly up with a picture-perfect pass deep in Saint John territory; the 19-year old winger made no mistake upon receiving the puck in close proximity to Fullerton, promptly firing a shot to the back of the visitors’ net to make the score 3-2 as the opening frame came to an end.
Scott Howes put the Sea Dogs up by a pair midway through the second period, reaching the twenty goal plateau for the second time in his career as a result. Ryan Sparling then gave Saint John a 5-2 lead 1:40 later, beating replacement goaltender Nicolas Champion with a laser-guided shot to the top corner on Acadie-Bathurst’s net, earning his 14th goal of the season in the process.
With 2:21 remaining in the middle frame, Fullerton stoned Eric Faille from point-blank range to keep the Sea Dogs’ three-goal advantage in tact.
Chris DiDomenico and Alexandre Picard-Hooper then scored back-to-back goals late in the middle frame to give the visitors a commanding 7-2 lead as Friday’s contest reached the forty minute mark.
The Sea Dogs onslaught continued in the third period; Scott Howes and Keven Charland both scored in the opening eight minutes to put the visiting squad from Port City up by a converted touchdown.
The last dozen minutes of play saw an absence of offensive production, and the match mercifully came to an end with Saint John having earned a massive 9-2 victory at the expense of their provincial rivals.
Up next for the Sea Dogs is a Saturday night contest versus the Lewiston MAINEiacs at Harbour Station. The action gets underway at 7:00pm.

Dog Catcher! How did you make it home before me! Last I saw, you were puttering down Rothesay Avenue at 2am!!
Wow, awesome game for sure. Feels good to drive back from Bathurst with a HUGE win. Good to embarass the Titan on home ice. Half the fans that were in attendance left after the 50/50!.
The boys died a bit in the first bit of the 2nd, but picked it up.
I'm too damn tired to write any more, and after 16 beers since we hit Moncton on the drive up, I deserve a damn good sleep.
See everyone at the Station tonight !

HOLIDAY BLOWOUT QMJHL: Saint John starts second half with 9-2 rout of Titan
Andrew McGillligan Telegraph-Journal Published Saturday December 29th, 2007 Appeared on page C14
SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs showed no signs of holiday rust in their first game of the second half of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season.
The Sea Dogs exploded for a 9-2 road win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday night.
Chris Di Domenico, Keven Charland and Scott Howes had two goals apiece while Payton Liske, Ryan Sparling and Alexandre Picard added singles.
Tomy Joly scored both Titan goals.
Picard had five points on the night, tying his own franchise record.
Charland said getting Picard and Sparling back in the lineup was big.
"It's a good mix when we have everyone in the lineup," said Charland, who had four points. "With everyone in the lineup I think we're one of the best teams in the league."
It took just 58 seconds for the Sea Dogs to open the scoring. In his first game back from injury, Sparling fed a backhand pass from behind the goal that Di Domenico fired past Titan starter Antoine Tardif on the short side.
The assist extended Sparling's point-streak to 12 games.
Saint John head coach and general manager Jacques Beaulieu was changing his players early and often in an effort to get his checking line against the Titan's top line featuring Mathieu Perreault.
Acadie-Bathurst tied the game 1-1 at 7:38 thanks to the QMJHL's best power play. Joly tipped a point-shot from newcomer Drew Paris and past Sea Dogs starter Travis Fullerton.
Saint John took the lead back less than a minute later when Charland corralled a rebound and slid it past Tardif for a 2-1 Sea Dogs advantage.
Liske made it 3-1 for Saint John at 17:30 on an odd play. Tardif thought he had control of a sharp angled shot, but it squeezed though his equipment and Liske picked it up and fired it into the open cage.
The Titan made it a one-goal game at 18:57 when Joly one-timed his second of the game past Fullerton.
The second period started with a change in goal for the Titan as Nicholas Champion replaced Tardif.
The Sea Dogs would greet him with four goals. Sparling and Howes scored to make it 5-2 and then Di Domenico and Picard scored in the final minute to increase the lead to 7-2.
The nicest of the four goals came on the power play. Di Domenico one-timed a pass from the point to Picard who made a touch pass to Howes in front who redirected past Champion at 10:54 for a 4-2 lead.
Beaulieu continued his tight checking of the Perreault line with the assignment falling on the trio of Michael Kirkpatrick, Francois Gauthier and Alexandre Leduc.
"They got the mission to stop Perreault and they did a great job," Charland said.
Tardif was back in goal for Acadie-Bathurst to start the final frame.
Saint John beat him at the 5:31 mark when Howes ripped his second goal of the game through the five-hole for an 8-2 lead. Charland made it 9-2 a couple minutes later when his centering pass deflected off a Titan defenceman and in for the Sea Dogs second power-play marker of the game.
Things got out of hand late in the final frame when Perreault tried to rough up Kirkpatrick. The pair dropped the gloves with the Sea Dogs rookie scoring the win.
With the win, Saint John improves to 23-10-1-2 while the Titan fall to 18-16-1-1.
The Sea Dogs are home for a pair games beginning tonight at 7 p.m. versus the Lewiston Maineiacs.
The Moncton Wildcats come to Harbour Station on Sunday for a 4 p.m. contest.
