Good for Anthony. Sucks that we lose him and Mayer for a couple of weeks.

Here we go with the Langan discrimination talk again......maybe there is some sort of reason for Andrew being passed over time after time.....attitude, work ethic, parental interference...I don't know the kid or his family, but sooner or later the finger will have to point at Andrew and not the GM's, coaches, media and the rest of the hockey community. If there was a reason for him to be on the team, it would be to make it better and he would be there....for some reason he doesn't make this team better, so he isn't picked to go.
Way to go Steve Anthony...I thought this thread was titled Anthony named to Team Atlantic....not Langan dissed again.......credit where credit is due.

.....attitude, work ethic, parental interference... Absolutely none of these. You couldn't ask for better in those aspects. Speed and size are concerns, but he was the top scorer in the summer camp games. You'd think a good coach would realize his skills. Bad blood between Leland and DeCourcey/McLaughlin is plausible. I don't know the history if any. It's a good chance for Anthony to play against his peers. He seems confident now, but a good performance may really pick up his game down the stretch.

BTW that's a hellava lineup. The three underagers, Couturier, Duffy, and Gormley are going to be high first rounders in the next Q draft, if they play. I think Couturier and Gormley could be very high NHL picks. Anthony, Brown, MacAusland, Critchlow, and Randall are all going to be fine Q players if not higher. The only other I know is Noseworthy who is a big, fast, and skilled kid.

You forgot Morgan Ellis as another underager on the team, he will be another high draft pick. In terms of this years team compared to other years I'd say it's OK, nothing near that team from 3 years back with Sheppard, Marchand, Bodnarchuk, Hillier, Gallagher etc. who won the Bronze Medal. I think last years Team Atlantic could have been scary good as well but we'll never know.

My post had nothing to do with "Langan discrimination talk". I don't give a fuck if Langan plays on that team really. I was surprised at the fact that Leland runs the team for one. The second surprise is that Leland runs it and never chose Langan, considering Langan is a Sea Dogs prospect and Leland also works for the Sea Dogs. Langan is not Q ready but he has always shown he has way more than enough skill to play at every level lower than that, so yes I am surprised he wasn't picked, especially when a Sea Dogs coach is running the team and Langan appears amply qualified to be there. Threads get off topic all the time. If you can't handle that you might as well stop participating in message boards for fuck sake. Talking about Langan is not completely off topic either as it is in reference to the Atlantic team that Anthony just made. Congrats to Anthony. Sympathies to Langan. A huge helping of SMD and GFY to habh8er.

Just wondering to see if Leland might have given the kid Gagne from RCS an invite to the 2007 Team Atlantic Tryouts in the summer time and then be eligible to play in this tournament at the end of December and into early January? If so Do you think he would have made it or is his size an issue like Andrew Langan?
He did put up some pretty good numbers as a D-man for Nord Ouest last year in the Bantam AAA league. I have heard rumours floating around that the Sea Dogs are heavily looking at him for this years entry draft. What are the chances?
What do you guys think?
