I think that both Sauve and Despres are the real deal. Grant could go AHL but these tow guys have NHL written all over them. They think faster than Grant, they don't make the stupid little mistakes he does and they don't get caught out of position as in the Giroux goal the other night that cost us the game late. And to think Despres is only 16. Also Amyot is starting to become the player everyone thought he could be. I also noticed that these guys are starting to pick away at all the starting time Grant use to get as well. I take it others are seeing potential elsewhere as well.

Amyot played like absolute ass to start the year, and now he's played what? Two good games in a row? Please. I'd be looking for good play on a more consistent basis before pumping him out on the ice more often and in key situations. I like Amyot. I think he has great potential. He needs to show his abilities for more than just two games though. Thus why Amyot never made this event.
Sauve? He hasn't shown me much this year either so far. Not saying he is terrible or anything but he hasn't stepped it up like I thought he would do based off what he showed last year. Sauve still will be a damn good one in the future, but I think he's off to a slow start, especially for it being his draft year.
Despres has been awesome, especially when you take his age into consideration.
Why does nobody mention Stich when talking about how our D is playing? He certainly blocks the most shots of our group. He seems to be getting more physical out there lately and throwing some hits. Defensively I think he's doing the best job for us, and he's leading us in points on D while getting next to zero icetime on the PP.

yes, but Stich isn't eligible for this event, or else he'd be there for sure.

The Stich part wasn't a comment about this event though Bjindaho. It was a general statement. Everyone talks about Grant, Sauve, Despres, and now the two game wonder Pascal Amyot. Stich has been solid defensively all year, is starting to throw hits, and now leads our D in points. Not a peep about him though when people talk about our defensemen. About how he is playing, or about how little icetime he gets, especially on the PP. It applies to all threads.
I like all our defensemen atm don't get me wrong. I only brought it up based off someone else's post about the potential in other D-men and how it is/could cut into Grant's ample icetime. I tossed Stich's name in there is all.

All in all, congrats Sea Dogs! Nice accomplishment for a team who struggled the 1st two years. Hopefully this leads to create more community interest and helps the team with more exposure as well. Glad to see Dido doing well, being a Leafs fan. At least we know that one of the prospects is doing well in the system.
Now, if only my Foggies had a couple people in the game, we could create some interest ourselves. ;D
