Excellent job. However, a lot of the credit goes to our D. They have been excellent.

I've been real impressed with Mayer not just the way he plays the game but the way he's always quick to thank his team and always acknowledges the fans even when we were on the island after the game he took a second to salute the fans ... Much Appreciated!!! ;D Piel piel piel ahhhh what's his name again?

Who was the Fog Devils fan who was posting back in July or August that Pielmeier was 'a given' that he was a quality goalie but that Mayer had to prove that he could compete at this level? I haven't seen him posting that lately

The Sea Dogs defence has been a huge part of Mayers success. Thats evident just by looking at the shot count. He's played over 400min and the defence has only allowed 175 shots on him. Where as Roy and Pielmier are getting pepperd. If the goalies were switched and Pielmier was a Sea Dog and Mayer was a Fog Devil, then I think it would safe to say that Pielmier would be 1 and Mayer would be 11. Hard to get a good GAA when your defence isn't helping much or at all.

Mayer 175 s/420 m = 0.41 s/min or about 25 shots per game Timo 370s / 653 min = 0.56 s/min or about 34 shots per game. According to your calculations, Mayer gets about 147 shots per game. ;D

Pielmeir, the same guy that has Devils fans missing Ejov right now??? I think the only thing that's 'safe to say' is that the Dogs are thrilled so far with Mayer, while Pielmier has been less than impressive to this point.

Our defence certainly does help, but I certainly dont think it totally makes up the difference between the 2.

I don't think it would be "safe to say" Mayer would be 11th if he played for the Fog Devils and Pielmeier 1st for the Sea Dogs, but I will agree that Mayer's ranking would drop if he played for your team, and Pielmeier's rise for ours. This does bring up another amusing point though. I remember at the start of the year quite a few Fog Devil fans stating their defense was very close to as good as ours would be this year, or better. Now to defend the goalie's play, your defense sucks compared to ours. Thank you for finally conceeding that. ;D

No, what we said was our D would be good enough to get the job done, and your offence was weaker then ours. Now with the addition of Hows and Picard your offence is probably equal to ours but our defenses is still not as good. The question remains how much did you pay for the 2 20's this season? We'll find out come Christmas/next summer.
Also with the Goalie thing I don't think Mayer is that much better then Timo given the shot differential and the fact Timo is our number one as a rookie also has a lot to do with it Mayer has Fullerton to guide him Timo has no one there’s a learning curve and it seems in the last few games Timo has that in check.

Yeah yeah and Timo is a year older and should be way ahead of Mayer on the experience curve, and was drafted by the goaltending scouting factory of the all mighty San Jose Sharks so he should be able to shine without "nothing better than a career backup goalie" to guide him. We can do this all day. ;D
And yes some of your posters did indeed say your defense would be as good or better than ours. That our D was all young guys that haven't proven a thing yet and yadda yadda blah blah.

Good question on the 20's. I'm sure there will be many posts on this down the road. I think we're fine as our 16-18 year old kids are very deep which buys us a year or two. Hopefully we'll see Timo Saturday, but you have to think Jake will get the call being so close to home.
