Gallant gets 2 minutes for Fillier being a terrible fighter...awesome I wouldn't say Fillier is a terrible fighter. He goes when his team needs him. Gallant left his bench to fight and dropped the gloves against an unwilling Fillier. Gallant had Fillier tied up before Filly's gloves were even off. I'm not saying Filly won the fight, because I actually give the decision to Gallant, but it wasn't a really fair fight to start off with. The fight really wasn't that one-sided. |

On games like these, I think the organization has to make sure the team is in Newfoundland atleast a day before...not arriving at 12am the day of the game. Makes for one tired bunch.

Yeah the Devils players weren’t happy with the way it happened and even Fillier said to Gallant "you should have let me square off with you" when they were in the penalty box but gallant messed his pants and went for it and to be honest with you id give the win to Gallant but Fillier went up a weight class and was sorta jumped. Boland wasn't happy with him at all I’m not sure if his had is still hurt but you might see him go tomorrow anyway. As for the penalties you guys should not complain the ref looked like he was on the Sea Dogs payroll. I guess all it takes to get the refs on your side in the Q is to have a little wine and a moan to the league front office and you’ll get preferential treatment. Btw what happened to Robert “Swiss Wall” Mayer tonight? Looked a lot like Swiss cheese  |

Come on markofthebeast. Mayer couldn't help it. He made some big saves early but then he got visions of those Timo Peilmeier tapes from early in the year stuck in his head and couldn't stop the puck.
p.s. Anyone know what is wrong with Amyot for him not to play? No Amyot. No Stich. That's why I was a bit afraid when we traded away Rioux. It was a good move from a standpoint of finally giving the young guys lots of icetime, but seriously fucks us when an injury or injuries happen since we only have 6 capable defensemen. Having kept Pisano over MacDonald would have been much more useful to us right now, especially on this NFLD trip.

Granted, Grant may have been tired by the end for taking most of the extra shifts but when you think about it last night we were down by at least one players for just over 39 minuets to your 12 minutes so really how disadvantaged were you? 5 goals in the 3rd? We played the game with 4 defencemen. The 5th defencemen sat on the bench, go back and watched the game and count how many times Scott macDonald touched the ice. I watched the first half of the game and saw him on the ice one time. The coaching staff has no confidence in him and I am not sure why we don;t bring in a free agent to fill the void and let MacDonald play at a lower level to develope. |

Don't be a trouty? Give the guy a break. For one he's been pretty good this year. Secondly, he hasn't been coming on this board doing anything (as of yet) so, Thirdly, if you want to stir shit up with Trouty, go do it on the Fog Devils board, where Trouty actually posts and might see your comments. Not that I really give a shit personally, but I know quite a few people would rather Trouty not start appearing here posting. You keep insulting him on here and he's going to appear for sure. (and after the Fog Devils hammered us 7-3 last night, do you really want that?) ;D |
