Don't know what JB said to the boys before the 3rd period...but whatever it was, it worked. Awesome comeback, and nice to do it to the p***y cats again too, makes it all that much sweeeeter! Kinda glad I missed the first 2 periods now. Flynn must be sour lol.

yeah that webcast was bad.. why did we need to see the 50/50 draw stuff and all that? I'm assuming you guys are seeing everything that we see on our big screen.. maybe not. They show the play as it's going on the big screen and show it different angles.. that would be the only thing I could think of?

Yeah it'd be great if they'd stop moving the camera angles by the time they change the angles the play in the area is gone. I assume your right it likely is whatever is on the big screen during game play we get to check our 50/50 tickets

SEA DOGS SCORE THRILLING 4-3 COMEBACK WIN OVER WILDCATS Saint John Erases Three-Goal Deficit In Third Period, Wins Game in Shootout
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, November 7, 2007
MONCTON, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs improved to 2-0 versus the Moncton Wildcats on Wednesday night, earning an incredible come-from-behind win in the sudden death phase of an overtime shootout to pick up two huge points at the expense of their divisional rivals.
The Wildcats built a solid 3-0 lead over the course of the opening forty minutes of play on Wednesday, but the Sea Dogs stormed back valiantly in the third period, scoring three unanswered goals while out-shooting their provincial foes 19-5 to send the game to overtime.
In the extra period, neither team was able to muster a goal, meaning that a shootout would be required to determine a victor. A tally by 20-year old winger Scott Howes in the fifth round of the breakaway contest would prove to be shootout’s lone marker, giving the visiting squad from Port City an incredibly dramatic victory and handing the home team a devastating loss.
“This team showed we have a lot of heart tonight,” said Howes following the electrifying comeback win. “We didn’t play our best hockey early on, but we really played well in the third and came out with the win. We never felt like we were out of it, and we’re definitely happy to be getting two points on the road against a very good team like the Wildcats.”
Moncton struck first on Wednesday, with Zach Sill scoring his sixth goal of the season 1:57 into the first period. Saint John had an excellent opportunity to produce the equalizer soon thereafter however, going on a 5-on-3 power play 0:46 later. Despite their best efforts, the Sea Dogs’ offensive special teams unit was unable to get the puck past starting Wildcats goalie Charles Lavigne, who was solid between the pipes for Moncton early on.
Ryan Sparling nearly scored Saint John’s first goal of the night midway through the first, getting off a good low shot on a one-timer from close range that Lavigne managed to somehow block with his right pad.
The Wildcats then doubled their lead at the 12:37 mark of the opening frame when Matthew Brenton beat Sea Dogs goaltender Travis Fullerton with a well-placed shot to earn his first goal of the year.
Despite going on to out-shoot Moncton 11-9 in the first period, the Sea Dogs still trailed by two on the scoreboard twenty minutes into Wednesday’s match.
Midway though the second period, Moncton was awarded a two-man advantage when Mike Thomas and Yann Sauve incurred minor penalties 1:19 apart. The always-impressive Sea Dogs penalty killing unit (6-for-6 on the night) kept the Wildcats at bay however, making use of an effective man-down defensive system to prevent any further additions from being made to Moncton’s goal total.
An even strength goal by Matt Eagles at the 13:38 mark of the middle frame then put the Wildcats up 3-0; the 19-year old centre managed to get his own rebound after darting in front of Saint John’s net, roofing his second shot to earn his 11th tally of the year.
Very late in the second, Fullerton made a spectacular pad save on a Zach Sill backhand attempt, keeping the Sea Dogs within reasonable striking distance of the hosts as the game reached its forty minute mark.
Fullerton’s stop on Sill’s breakaway attempt proved to be abundantly important, as the Sea Dogs would go on to mount an incredible rally in regulation’s final frame.
At the 4:21 mark of the third period, Saint John finally got on the scoreboard when Chris DiDomenco notched his 15th goal of the year, deflecting an Alexandre Picard-Hooper pass to the back of the Moncton net to pull the visitors to within two of the home team’s lead.
Five minutes later, Michael Kirkpatrick then made the score 3-2 on his third goal of the season. The tsunami-level tidal wave of momentum for Saint John continued throughout the third, with a rebound goal off the stick of Keven Charland tying things up at three apiece with 4:32 remaining in regulation.
Another huge save by Fullerton off of an Adam Bezak shot with just over three minutes remaining in regulation kept things all square and effectively sent the match into overtime.
Saint John’s net minder continued to play well in the abbreviated fourth period, turning aside all four shots he faced to force the staging of a deciding shootout.
The first three rounds of the breakaway contest failed to produce a goal, sending the affair to sudden death; Scott Howes then beat Lavigne to the blocker side in the fifth round of the shootout, and a save by Fullerton on Marc-Andre Labelle’s subsequent scoring attempt secured the victory for Saint John, who are now 12-5-0-2 on the season, The Sea Dogs return to Harbour Station on Thursday to face the Halifax Mooseheads in a 7:00pm contest. Tickets are available online or by calling the Harbour Station box office at 657-1234.

Well, sir.
That third period was a bit nerve racking!
The guys couldn't seem to find their legs in the first period, seemed to come on a bit more in the second and then absolutely DOMINATED the third! 18-5 shots! Wildcats didn't have a chance in the third period. The noose around Lavigne's neck kept getting tighter and tighter.
It was quite funny to see Morehouse chicken away from Stich in the 3rd period when Stich followed him to the bench. Seems Morehouse is all talk, and nothing else. Was hoping to see Gallant teach him a few lessons, but Flynn was smart and never had Morehouse out when Gallant was on.
Also pretty funny to see Morehouse get a diving penalty at the end of the 2nd! Should also note, he was basically the cause of the Sea Dogs 2nd goal and didn't see the ice after that.

Listen to me next time boys Great come from behind win, but an earlier poster was correct, we cannot play 20 minutes and get Halifax and expect to win. Man Dido is tearing it up, what's this, his 9th or 10th straight game with a point. 15 goals all ready..Nice

Just got in, really funny reading the posts from reddogbluedog and maddog, looks like the Sea Dogs have more to them than you think! Maybe next time you'll think twice before giving up on them with a whole period to play. Too funny!! Way to go boys! Now on to the Mooseheads!

SEA DOGS FIGHT BACK TO WIN QMJHL Saint John takes a two-game winning streak into home game against Halifax tonight
Andrew McGilligan Telegraph-Journal Published Thursday November 8th, 2007 Appeared on page B7
MONCTON - The Saint John Sea Dogs don't like to make it easy on themselves when they face the Moncton Wildcats.
The team came back from a two-goal deficit in their first meeting Sept. 29 to win. Wednesday, Saint John came back from three down to post a 4-3 shootout victory in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Scott Howes scored the shootout winner while Chris Di Domenico, Michael Kirkpatrick and Keven Charland had regulation markers for the Sea Dogs. Zach Sill, Matthew Brenton and Matt Eagles replied for Moncton.
"Even though we were down 3-0, I thought we were getting our chances," Saint John head coach and general manager Jacques Beaulieu said. "We started bringing the puck to the dirty areas in the third, getting the puck to the net and getting juicy rebounds and we were able to score."
It didn't look good for Saint John in the early going, however.
The Wildcats wasted no time opening the scoring. Less than two minutes into the first period, Sill scored on his own rebound on Sea Dogs starter Travis Fullerton.
The Wildcats made it 2-0 at 12:37 on a goaltending miscue. Fullerton came out of the net to clear the puck, but his attempt shot off the boards to Brenton who fired it into the net.
The lead bulged to 3-0 at 13:18 of the second on a great individual effort from Fredericton product Eagles. The Wildcats leading scorer broke down the wing and fired a blocker side shot handled by Fullerton.
Eagles kept up pursuit and picked up his own rebound in front, and shovelled the puck over Fullerton's glove.Mike Thomas had the biggest hit of the night which may have been the spark for the Sea Dogs.
"It was a matter of someone getting us going and it seemed like a big hit from Thomas sparked us and we started rolling in the third," Howes said.
The Sea Dogs finally solved Lavigne and cut the lead to 3-1 at 4:21 of the third period on a Di Domenico goal. The goal extended the Woodbridge, Ont. product's point-streak to nine games.
The Sea Dogs kept up the pressure and were rewarded at the midway mark of the final period. Kirkpatrick fired a rebound into a wide open net to cut the lead to 3-2.
Charland tied the contest just past the 15-minute mark. A point shot from Alex Grant deflected to Charland who fired a shot into the open net.
Saint John out shot the Wildcats 19-5 in the third, but couldn't get the go ahead marker and the game went to overtime. Despite some good chances, neither squad could break the deadlock forcing the game into the shootout.
Howe, the Sea Dogs fifth shooter finally put one by Lavinge while Fullerton stopped all Wildcats he faced including the final shooter Lucas Labelle to preserve the win.

Nice winner by Howes. I thought he was beat, but it was a very nice touch roofing it from in so close.

He is currently playing for Lewiston................. Sounds like a nice comeback yet again for the Sea Dogs. I hope they continue where they left off tonight against the Mooseheads.

Actually berner you should try reading the post again. I said that they boys should reach into there pants and find something. Then later I commented on they must have found something. No one watching the game last night can tell me they played a good two periods in the first and second. I wanted them to dig deep, show they were men and come out and play and that is what they did. Nothing funny about that just realistic expectations and the boys got it done. Give Joey a hug for me and let's hope we pay for more than 20 minutes tonight.

"The Wildcats then doubled their lead at the 12:37 mark of the opening frame when Matthew Brenton beat Sea Dogs goaltender Travis Fullerton with a well-placed shot to earn his first goal of the year."
I had to laugh when I read that one. Fullerton went behind his net to play the puck and passed it straight to Brenton who shot it into a virtually empty net (one Dman was around).
