PETER MCGUIRE GAME ON Published Tuesday October 16th, 2007 Appeared on page B12 Apparently a league supervisor attending the Moncton/Saint John game on Oct. 6 took note of the added entertainment and, like the tattle-tale in the schoolyard, reported the offence to head office.
Can you imagine??......The policy's definition reads: "A discriminatory conduct is a hurtful conduct which may be expressed through behaviours, words, acts, gestures or writings, that affect the dignity and the honour of any person and that are made in relation with race, sex, colour, religion, language, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation, handicap or social condition of the person, or in relation to any other ground of discrimination prohibited by the law." I repeat... can you imagine?? Where was the discrimination....maybe a trademark infringement(hitman?)....but this is just silly....does the "old grey mayor" work for Courteau now, looks like 1 for the "geritol gang" P.S. I agree fill the damn coke machines, my kid keeps dumping money in them and has been ripped off more than a couple times....almost makes the $5.00 beer seem like a good deal !!

$5.00 beer is a good deal! If some people had it their way there would be no beer at the games! Plus a $5 beer is better than a $2.50 bottle of nothing. ;D
As for the ATM machine it didn't work for the whole game last game. A guy sitting behind me with his wife and a bunch of young hockey team players said he went to that ATM and it wasn't working so he had to walk to...I forget where. Then he got back and bought a bunch of food for the kids, and proceeded to drop a good deal of it going up the stairs and have to go make a second trip. Poor bugger.

i think the banning of those cute little nicknames is quite ridiculous. but at the same time, when i read that article, it's obvious who signs peter mcguire's cheques. kinda made me chuckle. besides, once the commissioner makes a ruling on something, there's nothing to argue. Gilles Courteau has the final say on issues such as this one.

It was actually at the Sep 29 game vs Moncton that the league official ( Larry Christian ) brought it to Gilles Courteau's attention.

Everyone knows there's nothing they can do about it except have as many fans as they can say it loud enough and make some signs defy the powers that be!!!

Actually Catsfans, Moncton, along with the Simon La la la la Liberte and Cir cir cir Celli and Luuuuuuuuuuke and all the other extended names, we had Treve "The big Show" Ettinger. Jean Richard would call him that and they'd play "The Big Show" Wrestling Theme Song every time he dropped the gloves.
Also, I liked the nicknames when I was at Harbour Station, I found it pretty weird that the nicknames were only used in the french and not the english part of the announcement but I know why now.
