What the hell is up with Telus? Again last night, Telus screws up the webcast for our home opener. You would think that with Telus doing them since last Thursday (another screwup), they would have fixed any glitches to their system by now!

Rumor has it, a volunteer fan was carrying the camera up to the press box and broke a wire or something inside the camera..
But, in all seriousness, what a joke Telus is. They've had what, a YEAR to get ready for this? *shakes head*

Actually, the volunteer did a fine job of bringing it up the stairs....once again Telus fails us....got an explanation from someone who was in the pressbox about why we weren't on the webcast...
Art & Bruce were doing the webcast last night, thinking everything was fine. Bruce called home to ask his wife how it was going and was told it wasn't on. For two periods they were talking to themselves. Bruce called some tech guy whose response was "we have 8 games on tonight, we might get you on soon".
So their servers can't handle 8 games or what, I'm not sure. We sure didn't have problems like that with Aliant last year.

I suppose they wouldn't have a backup camera just in case one goes down?  They should talk to Aliant to see how it is done. |

The problem isn't with the camera's...those are brand new, I know...I was that volunteer that we are talking about. The problem is at the other end with Telus! They can't seem to be able to have that many games going on their server at once.
I say bring back Aliant!

Well if you have a Telus phone you know all about Telus!!! I cannot believe they are still in business!!! They are just proving their word is shit like on TV!! This was a bad move by the Q the alarm should have went off last year when they kept promising after Xmas, next month, next month OK we will be ready for next year...................NOT!!!!
In the meantime we lose Aliant as a major sponsor because it conflicts with the "Q's" agreement with SMELLUS!!!
BULLSHIT!!!

What's the excuse today? I can't get our own home broadcast, only Lewy's. Yes I've selected both Home and Visitor broadcasts.

At the rink they showed the video replay from above the net. I liked that feature.

The other cameras in the rink aren't hooked up to a switcher, nor is there a director / producer (if it was a multi-camera setup, there would be one to decide when to switch from camera to camera). What you see is what we're gonna get, guys..... |
