SEA DOGS MAKE ROSTER MOVES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Monday, September 24, 2007
SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Head Coach/General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that the team has released overage forwards Jordan Knox and Francis Charland.
“We would like to thank Jordan and Francis for their time with the Sea Dogs and wish them the very best in their future endeavors,” said Beaulieu.
Charland and Knox, both twenty years old, each played in two games during their tenure in Port City, with neither registering a point.
Currently in possession of a 2-2 record and a fifth-place ranking in the QMJHL’s East Division, the Sea Dogs next hit the ice against the PEI Rocket on Thursday night at Harbour Station. In the last meeting between these two teams, Saint John routed PEI at the Charlottetown Civic Centre by a score of 6-3 on September 16.
Thursday night’s game is the first match featured in the All-Star Mini-Pak ticket plan. The All-Star Mini-Pak is comprised of ten Sea Dogs home games, with prices starting at just $97 for adults and $66 for students. Information on all ticketing options can be obtained by calling the Sea Dogs office at (506) 657-DOGS (3647).

So, does that leave the dogs with just two 20yr olds?

So, does that leave the dogs with just two 20yr olds? For now, that would be correct.

Let the speculation begin on JB's next move........................ any opinions? He said the 20 year old situation would be settled by Monday. It's not settled until he announces a third 20 year old, so there better be more news to come TODAY! Everyone is going with Brad Gallant, as that is the rumor after all. I'll go out on a limb just for kicks n' giggles. Francis Charette.

If i were a SJ fan, I would not want him around the young kids at all.

Agreed Score, but the guy has skill to burn. That and it's like T.O. in the NFL, or any bad apple player with talent. There is always a coach out there that thinks they can change the player or at least keep him mostly in line. I'm just throwing it out there as the likely answer is Gallant, and it would be boring to only keep mentioning one name as a possibility.

I couldn;t agree more with leaving Charette where he is. JB spent all last season weeding out cancers, I doubt he wants to have that problem again this season

Brad fits the need for grit nicely. I think in a game like Friday's he could have helped turn things around in a big way.

What IF we don't get another 20 yr old. What is everyone's thoughts on that. I'm not against it actually. It's not like we're making a Memorial Cup run this year or anything. Allows younger guys like Stoddard, Kirkpatrick, Anthony, etc, time to play. If we can't get someone who can put up points, or brings an element of toughness/fighting like Brad Gallant, I actually like the idea. I don't want a 20 just to say "we have three 20's now". We could have accomplished that by keeping a Knox or F. Charland.
