Looks like the Dogs are ready to play hardball this year, the Knox - Charland "experiment" didn't work out so it's time to cut them loose. Did either one of them deserve a roster spot after the camp, then the ex. games, and now into the second week of the season? IMO, the answer is no, the same as most are saying...it may be a bad move to keep a 20 as a back up Goaltender, but after the game on Friday night at the Station, JB's deciscion was made for him...maybe Fullerton dodged a bullet when Mayer played in the opener and looked less than stable in between the pipes. It was my guess that Knox and Fullerton were the odd men out, I always thought there would be two of our 20's cut on monday...on the radio JB said we will "stand pat" until a good fit comes along..IMO that good fit will be Brad Gallant, sooner rather than later..as in between now and the second week of Oct. He will come pretty cheap as the eagles don't have room for him... in JB we trust...GO DOGS GO!!

You know who would make a great 20...Ryan Graham. And the best part is that we can probably offer St. John's more assets than anyone else would should we want him, since we don't really have enough ice time for Amyot, one of Stoddard/Kirkpatrick/Pard, and since we probably won't carry Gauthier next year even though he could be a PPG player. Also, St. John's needs to retool because they are trying to win the right to host the Memorial Cup, which we want them to win, so we can take the Cup there

It did play out well for Fullerton. Mayer got the home opener and CB bombed us. Sure One or two of those goals Mayer could have stopped, but even if Fullerton saved those ones, he loses 4-1. Then Lewiston mounts no offense at all on Sunday with pretty much every shot being a relatively easy save. Had Mayer played that game we likely still win 6-1. Had those nights and performances been reversed we might be looking at a completely different scenario here.

I don't say you'll see Ryan in a Dog's Jersey. While you really could offer a fair bit in prospect I don't see either team making this deal. SJ wouldn't make the deal because we are in direct competition next season not the best idea for your team to make the "bad guys" a better team. I don't see St John's making the deal mostly on speculation that Graham is the one 20 we keep this season. He is more valuable the both Welcher and Guilbault but he also is a fan favorite. I see Welcher and Guilbault being moved Christmas time. Welcher to a team looking to add really good depth at center, and Gilly to a team looking to add speed. This is of course if Oli can stay healthy. Do you want one of those guys?

He'd be way too expensive for us. We're getting greedy folks. You go after a Ryan Graham type player when you're making at run at winning it all.

What Halifax has to offer and what other teams have to offer in trades are 2 completely different things but I don't expect you to realize that.

LOL! I just saw the post Sharrow was kinda referring to. Nice try Sharrow. Lala might have overexaggerated A LITTLE there, but Halifax would pay out the ass to get Sheppard from Cape Breton. Any Eastern team OTHER than Halifax could get him cheaper than that, and a Western division team cheaper than an Eastern.
You're comparing apples and oranges.

And the price for Halifax would be no higher then the price for anyone else imo. The price is high regardless, but Halifax does not pay more then anyone else would I don't think. People over-rate the CB/Halifax rivalry. It went out the window with a little thing called the boomerang trade.
