Yeah but the rivalry thing may play a small part to adding to the cost. I was more thinking that out of all teams making a run at it this year, Halifax has been the one talked about the most. There is a general feeling that Halifax should win the Presidents Cup. If they don't it's a bigger disappointment/upset than for any other team, IMO.
Thus the elevated pressure/expectations should be able to allow a team like CB to squeeze a bit more out of Halifax than anyone else. I'd say the same for Val D'Or and Marchand. Halifax should want a player more than anyone else, and want to keep a player like those two away from another team more than anyone else. Thus you squeeze them for every drop of prospects/draft picks you can get.

But you also have to be careful not to overprice yourself out of the market because asking for too much will just result in teams going elsewhere to find their player.

Agreed Mr. Bauer. It's safe to say the payscale for a top-quality East division player like Sheppard would be Halifax, then the rest of the Eastern Division, then the Western. Just because Halifax can pay more, and most likely would be willing to pay more than anyone else to get the player they want when the time comes. Obviously there is a limit to how much Halifax or anyone would pay.
Sharrow was just being a jackass, as usual.

Unfortunately, you HAVE to trade Graham if offered enough, because you have to have impressive enough assets to convince the league to give you that Memorial Cup.

I have that feeling as well, we could ice a NHL quality team and Rim will still probably get it. I wish it would be here but with Moncton holding it last the writings on the wall. I wouldn't say we would have to trade Graham but if were not selling him and someone puts in a crazy high offer anyway sure you’d take it everyone has a price. What I was saying the price for Graham would be higher then most would want to pay. Also it’s speculation on my behalf and from others that I’ve talked to who knows what Reals plan is.
