Yes, yes. It was me who got the scoop out of the arena in Lewiston last night. Knox said he hopes to be dressed for the game on Sunday, as he would love to make his QMJHL in his home province in front of family and friends.

I was hoping he'd play....wanted to see how he's handling the jump up from Summerside.
Oh well...since there are 7 more matchups, I'm sure I'll get to watch him at some point!

It was in the Telegraph today there is a snag on his release something about monetary payment, possibly $5000-10,000 to grant his release to the Sea Dogs. He may have to sit Sunday to if nothing worked out. It's what the paper said not sure how true it is.

only one word to describe this situation, STUPID, you would think that saint john would have gotten this straightened out before the season started, and now he probably will not be able to play in front of his family and friends. Two professional teams, well not professional but they should act like it.

I am sure regardless of what happens the SeaDogs will live up to their obligations to Knox. The release fee itself is probably a minor issue when compared to the Education package and compensation they had to provide to get him to give up NCAA offers to play in the Q.
Quite a saga unfolding in Saint John.

I still think it's brutal that a MJAHL team can keep someone from playing in the Q. There shouldbe a standard fee paid by Q teams to all MJAHL teams when they want to promote a player. Problem solved.
It's not like Rimouski was able to hold the Penguins hostage for Crosby, for example. Not saying Summerside is trying to do any exploitation here. Just that these things should all have rules in place so things go smoothly and kids aren't prevented from making the next step in their hockey lives.
Imagine if, for example again, the Sea Dogs want to drop Fullerton from the roster at Xmas, and they say to Yarmouth "You have his rights. Want him? $10,000"
