I wouldn't add the Dev's to that list if anything we are selling at the deadline I see 3-4 players leaving the team at Christmas in order to build a better team for next season. That just how I see it right now. Actually this move by the seadogs make me a little curious as to why they made this move now and didn't stand pat until next season.

The Drakkar had their backs against the wall if they wanted something they needed to make the deal happen and only a limited number of teams as possible destinations that limits his trade value even more. That doesn't mean there isn't a player going back later but it's not gonna be anything big IMO.

OT: Seen Mayer and Stich today I assume one of them knows the others language cuz I have no damn clue what the hell they were talking about ;D (my guess is it's czech) According to Mr. billet, Mayer was born in Czechwjhateveria. He moved to Swissland as a kid and still speaks the language. Don't believe anything you read on Euro hockey sites. I've heard these two have hit it off nicely.

I don't think you have a run for the cup(I don't expect a third year expansion team to be a real contender) but still a good move. I think this division is so wide open that any team that wants to be a contender could be if they make the right moves. The league is kind of weak this year so you never know. Saint John could still finish near or at the bottom of the division, or they could be right there at the top fighting. Also, not to get anyone's hopes here up, but Halifax made game 7 of the league semi-finals in their 3rd year in the league. Only our third year and two lousy seasons mean dick all. Look at the talent on the ice. Somebody please show me a weakness besides a little youth and inexperience. Who in this league doesn't? We have goalies, defense, checking, grit, and scoring. Most of all we have teamwork. Cripes, Lewy is almost as young as we are and most people automatically give them 90pts. I picked 87pts for the Dogs in the pool based on what I saw in camp. I think 70pts is pretty much a sure thing. With this addition, great development, and continued great coaching, this will be a playoff contender. You out of town fans may not agree, but there will be no teams wanting to face us in the playoffs. Knox is an easy out due to his issues and Charland due to the injury issue, but I'd seriously consider letting Fullerton go. Does anyone think we are seriously keeping three goalies because they all deserve to be here? I really can't see not shipping a goalie out. I agree a kid is going to BC at xMas, most likely Pard.. I look for Amyot to go too and maybe one other. Knox played very well in the game I saw Sunday and the radio guys agreed. They praised him for his hard work. He wasn't on a freaking scoring line, he was on a checking line. He skated hard and checked. He shut down the opposition. He only had maybe 8 shifts. Somebody was getting their beers during those shifts and didn't see the player I did. Why on the 4th line? Because it was a last minute decision for him to play. The other guys practiced together all weak. Don't read anything else into it.

I'm an out of town Q fan (you can easily guess who I cheer for) and I predicted the SeaDogs to finish 3rd in the division before the season began. I really like how mature your young defense looks and the intense forechecking your club puts out. This was before the Picard-Hooper addition.
I don't believe the "this is a go for it year" crap and believe that if you can better yourself without "selling the farm" a team should do it. They owe it to the fans who pay good money to watch the product on the ice. To me your organization is saying that they believe they have a playoff caliber club and are willing to add some quality vets so you, the fans, can have more to cheer for this season. THis could also help out by giving your younger players better success and gained confidence.

Nah Leask just had to get the dig in there I never started that one lol I have no clue who will be going I guess cases could be made either way. Knox - Still has no release from Summerside may see less of a need to pay the ransom they seem to be holding over his head Fullerton - they kept 3 goaltenders for a reason and I think this deal has been in the work for quite awhile which might explain why we've been hanging on to 3 just waiting for the deal to be complete. F. Charland - Least likely to be going anywhere but some might suggest his injuries might be a problem which is possible but I highly doubt he's going anywhere!

I think keeping fullerton is insurence incase JB feels mayer cant handle the Q and I guess passingham if he can do a backup role. Knox could have been the final nail in coffin due to the price of the release JB did mention the 100 pt kid at the meeting early on soo he knew it was comming. F Charland wont be going anywheres I dont think we just got him in a trade and when he does play he plays at a very competive level.

I agree with you tcats14. Knox didn't have a good pre- season, and even if he had of played both games and was on the top line, it wouldn't of lasted long. F.Charland if healthy can play, he needs someone always on him, to keep him motivated.

What better way to show your worth than making the semis or finals in the franchise's 3rd year. It would pop some eyelids. Doing this then going for it next year are probably doable but at what cost? We have a very strong core of 16 & 17yr olds to keep us competetive in the following lean years. He can always dump him at Christmas too, say for a hot shot 17 to help the next season. It will be an interesting season in many ways, but right now I'm just getting pumped for the home opener. I hope we break 6k fans, all drunk, screaming and cursing, blowing horns, and throwing stuff at the the CB team and fans. Rock on Dogs!
