Come on LIMH if we needed his size and toughness at any time, it's now with Gallant sitting..and he gets "re-assigned" today...I respect your opinion, any explanation,..... Explanation for what? I gave my opinion, habh8er. IMO I feel we would have been better served sending MacDonald down than Pisano. I don't know why Pisano was sent down. JB knows more about this stuff than I do, and sees these kids more than I would, so he likely sees stuff I don't and feels differently. My comment had to do with the general subject of the thread...Pisano designated for assignment. My comment made no reference to your great "Bathurst Game Conspiracy Theory". Maybe that is why Pisano has moved down. Maybe MacDonald stayed because Amyot is going to Baie Comeau at Xmas as part of that Picard-Hooper trade. Maybe JB just likes MacDonald better, or feels Pisano would be better served by playing more at a lower level. The reasons are endless. The incident in Bathurst is just one possibility. Ask JB yourself. ;D

IMO Pictou or whoever he belongs to didn't want McDonald. Weeks is all 19 & 20 yr olds except for the two kids. Pisano fits into that old group fine as a big tough 18yr old.

Nothing wrong with McNeil. McNeil has looked very good. He seems to have stepped ahead of Amyot.

Antigonish Bulldogs hold McDonald's rights but he is also eligable to return to AAA so there are options for him to develop. It is quite clear McDonald is no where near Q ready

I do not agree with this move at all. Pisano played pretty well in the games I saw. He was a real force out there, making the opposition look over their shoulders. He has a booming slap shot, and the right attitude--go out there are make something happen. The comments about skating are valid, he needs some one on one skating coaching, especially pivots, edge work, and explosiveness. But he is starting from a really strong muscular base, and I think 2-3 months skating in Q practices would have got him up to speed! I think it is a mistake not keeping him close by!

Pisano isn't very far away at all and was likely assigned to the Mjahl instead of Ontario so he can be called up here and there through out the season especially if Gallant goes down injured. I do think that he is a better option McDonald as 7th defencemen. The Dog's will be in a real pinch on the back end if we get bitten by the injury bug at all.

Let me get this...the SeaDogs can only demote players if the team they are going down to approve the move, and if not they have to keep the player....thats really how these things work?..come on JB doesn't have to get the OK from anyone except maybe the owner, do the NHL teams get the OK from the AHL ....MacDonald will be fine as the 7th D. I didn't see anything wrong with his game when he played against Lewiston, He probably only played 10 shifts as we basically went with 4 defence that night...but he did a good job when he was on the ice IMO.

I guess you do not have very high expectations if you thought he had a good game against Lewiston. On a few occasions McDonald had the puck in his own zone and had a chance to catch Lewiston on a line change but failed to read the play and just threw the puck blindly away. He also still has the old school mentality on obstruction where when you get burned wide you haul your man down. He constantly has one arm on the opposing player and will be sitting in the box alot if he does not change. Reminds me alot of JP Cote with hands of stone and dragging players down who burn him.

If I remember right, NHL teams have strong formal agreements with their AHL farm teams, hence the name farm team. The Sea Dogs as far as I know have no agreements at all with anyone. They are not a farm team and they have none. The Knox and McNeil affairs illustrate these hassles. Since JB has a history with the Bulldogs when they wanted to keep McNeil, I'm sure the conversation with them went something like JB: "hey Bulldog GM. How would you like another defenseman to run your PPs and possibly make you competetive?" BDGM: "Sure!" JB: "Well we're keeping him. But we're sending a big ass tough guy your biggest rival instead, so FU!"
