BEHIND THE SCENES WITH DK: FIRST EDITION
Sea Dogs Equipment Manager David Kelly will be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the team all season long.
Blog : A frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links.

So that’s what a blog is eh?... Wait a second.....Frequent? What have I got myself into??... Well, I dont know about ’frequent’ but we’ll work on it being ’regular’... I’ve never thought about doing a blog before, but after seeing the one that Rick Bronwell, formerly the Equipment Manager of the Houston Aeros (recently hired in San Jose) does, I think its a great idea for you, the fan of the Saint John Sea Dogs to catch a glimpse of tall the ’behind the scenes’ action I witness as the team’s Equipment Manager.
We had alot of success and positive feedback on our "On the road with CAA and Best Western" web show in the inaugural season, and that was a lot of fun to do... People seem to really enjoy seeing and hearing the behind the scenes stuff when it comes to sports and entertainment... They must, or wouldnt the tabloid shelves by the cashiers at grocery stores be empty? And did I mention all of us here in Sea Dog Land get our groceries at the Atlantic Superstores? Haha yes, I’m thinking that I’ll be throwing in shameless plugs for our sponsors in this blog as much as I can... Why not?!

Well, just at the hotel getting ready to head back to the Colisee here in Lewiston. Stichy and I are looking forward to seeing our office staff pull in to the rink here, they have a very important package... David Stich’s equipment... I don’t want to rip airlines because the guys at Air Canada were awesome in helping us find his stuff, but it is very fustrating when you stand waiting for baggage and it just doesn’t come. Anyways, we have Stichy ready to play in some equipment that we had in the storage room and his old skates, but hopefully we don’t need it! His sticks are still missing in action, so he’ll be working hard in warm up to fine tune his new twigs... Heads up in front!!
There is a feeling in our group that we’ve never had before - there was a lot of positive energy around our locker room this morning.. Our returning guys have been waiting for tonight since last March, and people in Saint John should be excited too - this is going to be a good team.
This is getting long eh? Dont expect this every time.. You guys can feel free to email me your thoughts on the blog too... Try to keep them nice though, ok? All right, write whatever you want - lol. Actually, feel free to email me any questions you might have... I can post a couple of your emails on every blog entry and answer them for you. Sound good? We’ll have some laughs, have some fun, and do this whole ’blog’ thing together. I know you have a lot of questions about equipment and how things work behind the scenes so dont hold back.. Send them to davidkelly@saintjohnseadogs.com and I’ll do my best to answer you back and the best/funniest questions will be posted on the blog.
Oh, and how can I finish this up without mentioning that my Red Sox are fivegames up on the Yankees!... I love my Red Sox and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE that Yankees are five games back... it’s almost playoff time and people said all season long that they wouldn’t be able to hold the lead so that makes it even sweeter.
Anyways, time to head to the rink.. see ya soon!
