No one commented on Riopel's play. I thought he was pretty decent for his first game of the season. He looked sharp out there. The first goal he didn't even see the puck and the second one was a perfect shot off the post, I'm sure he wishes he had that one back though.

MacAusland went to the Canada Games last year (replacement for World U-17) and was one of the best 16 YO forwards in Canada ... playing against kids his own age. Right now in the Q ... MacAusland is playing against kids 2 and 3 yrs older than him. When he reaches the age that he is not one of the young guys anymore, he will start to show what he is made of ... at 18 and 19. At 17 you can expect to see him playing regularly and chipping in offensively significantly more than last year. I already see improvement in MacAusland in his strength and confidence. He played an intrasquad game on saturday morning with Brown centering him and he was the best player on the ice ... better than Brown, Stephens, Bissonette, Tremblay, Roski ... players around his age group. Anybody thinking about getting rid of Devon MacAusland at 17 is a hockey moron. Please ... stop posting and save us all the embarassment ... fans from other cities come here and read this stuff ...

I thought Riopel was solid last night....Was a bit concerned with a few rebounds but for his first game back he did a great job....I hope he has a amazing season if he can stay healthy.

I thought Riopel was solid last night..... I heard that Mayer was the difference. Had the S.O. and looked really good. Any thoughts compared to last year from anyone who was there? Had a couple reports from Dog fans, but they are a bit biased .

I thought MacAusland had a very solid game last night. He was agitating, actually playing the body( had a nice hit on 40 something can't remember the number). Created some ice with Sill and Brannon and moved the puck well. He is just going to get better. Noseworthy I thought played decent. Forechecked hard but did seem a little out of place but still played a good game. For Petterssons first game against Q players I thought he did alright. He backchecked well. I think with a few more games he may show a little more promise. Tremblay played well again. I really like Downe but I am torn if he should stick or would a year of Jr A or MAAA do him better? Bissonnette is going to be fun to watch the next few years. I like Querry (reminds me of Gaudet) but like someone else said he isn't standing out so he might be let go for a younger kid. Its going to be some tough decisions in the next few days. Still been a very entertainning camp so far.

Had a couple reports from Dog fans, but they are a bit biased . Mayer was solid on what he faced but wasn't really tested ... many of Moncton's shots came from outside. Your big Dmen were solid and kept the slot clear. Q site says Moncton had 16 Ds and SJ had 13 ... but that seems off. SJ's 13 is probably accurate ... but I'd say Moncton should be more like 6. SJ had far more good scoring chances than Moncton did. We hit a few posts on our best scoring chances and so they shouldn't even be counted.

So I guess that the headline on the Dogs site is a bit of OVERKILL. "MAYER MAGNIFICENT FOR SEA DOGS IN 3-0 WIN OVER WILDCATS IN PRE-SEASON ACTION" lol .

I thought Both golies were very sharp, the ice was soft and the puck bounced a lot so it was hard to generate a lot of offense.

If you mean wandering......thats a different story. That boy almost causes me to go into cardiac arrest every start he gets. Jeezus Robert stay in your net......but he rarely gets burned, so who am I to say anything LOL.
