Thank you Dereck Tait.
Also can someone please tell Garrett Clarke, that if he's gonna play tough, and fight, to TIE DOWN his jersey!! I think every fight he's been in the year, his jersey comes up and he ends up with 5 and a 10, and in turn we end up playing without our best defencemen for 15mins of the game. Is it that hard to tie down a jersey?? We can't afford for him to out for 15mins of every game he plays.
Solid victory tonight. Showed some real grit battling back. Could have been easy to pack it in, down 2-0, esp. after they score 8 secs into the game. Good start to the weekend.

I know holy cow that was a random guess too; I even said to my friend I totally called that once again Horrible officiating job by Thomander he missed about 6 calls on us tonight but I suppose he missed a few on them too; I don't think there's one Halifax fan that will admit to liking Thomander the trip at center was obvious the holding, the trip right after he called us. and he called us for tripping the Gatineau player fell if thats a penalty it must be new to the rule book!!! Holy cow there's not a ref I hate as much as Thomander he's so blind!!!

Nice win. Another solid game be Mathieu Corbeil. He made a couple of brilliant saves and was just in the right position all night. He gives us a chance to win every night.
Defense played well, I was really impressed by Dimitrik, solid all night, made some great defensive plays and his goal was nice. He found an opening just inside the blueline, Grant found him and a well placed shot. Gilliard impresses me more every time I see him. For a young guy great composure with the puck, I can not think of a mistake he made.
Clarke was a little rusty and made a few mistakes but a solid game. But for @&*^ sakes every fight he has been in he gets the 10 min misconduct. We cant afford to miss him for 5 let alone 15. This has to be addressed by the coaching staff. I agree with halifaxfan09, Thomander sucks. He is not consistant in his calls at all, he calls the cheap penalties and misses the bad ones. Knotek got boarded, which is why Clarke fought as there was no call. Then Clarke gets an elbow in the head right at centre ice,,,,,no call. Then he calls bullshit penalties on both sides, no wonder he loses control of games.
Andrews is starting to get comfortable out there, he made some great plays and looks like he is getting more used to the speed. He too is great with the puck, with his stick and his feet. We have a good one there. Was nice to see a win when for the most part our top line did not have it's best game.
The small crowd that was there (50/50 was 1,100) enjoyed a good show.

Thomander and MacIsaac don't want to be thought of as homers- Todd is brutal to Halifax and MacIsaac is brutal to Truro whenever I have seen him ref there.

Halifax leads the league with 37 fighting majors and 24 of those have come from defencemen (Metcalfe 9, Clarke 8, Hannay 6, Amyot 1) and that's an interesting statistic being that top heavy, since it's usually the other way around. Can't be easy so often being short defence.

Thomander is also the same sack of shit that missed the dirty elbow on Justin Saulnier a few years ago That's not bad, just 2 missed calls in the last 4/5 years Those are just the highlights........Just wildly inconsistant so the kids don't know what is a penalty. See the moncton board about comments in last weeks game against drummondville.

Clarke was gone for 15 tonight (the manditory 10 min we seem to get) and the others step up.

I was wondering about that the other day, it seems we fight alot which is great to see, as Cam has always hinted in the past about wanting to see guys take the initiative in that regard when we need it. He seems to have been able to instill an attitude on the team that is very enjoyable to see after all the years of softer, finesse style teams.

I know our record is brutal, but I am also amazed at how this young, inexperienced D is able to cover for eachother when we lose key bodies (who are also young and inexperienced lol)... we lose the best of our best in Clarke and Albetshauser and hardly miss a beat... we arent as good, but we arent looking as terrible as we would a few years ago without Bodnarchuk or Monast etc...

What Thomamder didn't miss were the hooking and grabbing by Gatineau early in the game. He called them 2 or 3 times, which took them off their game and allowed the Moose a little more room to skate for the rest of the game. He did miss the butt end Hannay delivered on Laliberte early in the 3rd at the Gatineau blueline. They fought later when the play went down into the Moose end. I thought there were more positives than negatives last night from Thomander. Usually, it is just negatives.
