Thank you Dereck Tait. Also can someone please tell Garrett Clarke, that if he's gonna play tough, and fight, to TIE DOWN his jersey!! I think every fight he's been in the year, his jersey comes up and he ends up with 5 and a 10, and in turn we end up playing without our best defencemen for 15mins of the game. Is it that hard to tie down a jersey?? We can't afford for him to out for 15mins of every game he plays. Halifax leads the league with 37 fighting majors and 24 of those have come from defencemen (Metcalfe 9, Clarke 8, Hannay 6, Amyot 1) and that's an interesting statistic being that top heavy, since it's usually the other way around. Can't be easy so often being short defence. Yeah their top 3 toughest guys are all on D and have been very active but they've played a lot (since the Cheremetiev trade) with 7 D so it wasn't too bad. I know some young skill up front would be nice to add but I'd also really like to see them pick up a 16-17 year old forward who brings a tough, physical game. I really like Clarke's toughness and leadership but with his skill he shouldn't be the #2-3 guy and always stepping up to fight... another player, a forward, in front of him would be good.

Well his jersey wasn't tied down either. I know that's gounds for a 10. I've never heard of a player getting a 10 for taking his helmet off after a fight. Who cares if his helmet is on or off, the fight is over.

Clarke got his 10 minute misconduct for taking his helmet off after the fight. Who cares if his helmet is on or off, the fight is over. You may not care but the league does - see the last sentence. "HELMET RULE (Article 54H) If a player should remove his helmet or undo his chinstrap prior to or during an altercation, such player shall receive a game misconduct in addition to any other penalties assessed and an automatic one (1) game suspension. If a player should remove his helmet or undo his chinstrap prior to entering into an altercation and his opponent does not remove his helmet or undo his chinstrap, the player removing his helmet shall receive a two minute minor penalty, a game misconduct penalty in addition to any other penalties assessed and an automatic one (1) game suspension. If a player should remove an opponent’s helmet or undo an opponent’s chinstrap prior to or during an altercation, such player shall receive an automatic game misconduct penalty in addition to any other penalties assessed and a one (1) game suspension. If during the course of an altercation a player or player’s helmets should become dislodged, the linesmen are to intervene at the most opportune time. If both players should remove their helmet and / or undo their chinstrap prior to entering into an altercation, and an altercation does not ensue, the players shall receive a 10 minute misconduct penalty. If a player should remove his helmet or undo his chinstrap prior to entering into an altercation, and his opponent does not remove his helmet or undo his chinstrap, and an altercation does not ensue, the player removing his helmet or undoing his chinstrap shall receive a 2 minute minor penalty for delay of game. If a player should remove his helmet, while on the ice, following an altercation, the player shall receive a 10 minute misconduct penalty."

In any case, the fact Clarke keeps getting 10min misconducts after almost every fight is something that needs to be dealt with. Keeping your helmet on is even easier then tieing down your jersey, so I don't see any excuse for it. I love what Clarke brings to the game, he's fun to watch, and I'm not suggesting he change the way he plays, but losing a top d-man for silly reasons shouldn't be happening.

The ref could have called either of the 2 misconducts from the sounds of things. He couldn't make it 20 minutes so he took the helmet misc. for the 10.

The tie down rule is only in effect if you lose the sweater. He didn't.

Well holy shit, it's a Festivus Miracle...FIXED!!!!!! ;D once again Horrible officiating job by Thomander he missed about 6 calls on us tonight but I suppose he missed a few on them too; I don't think there's one Halifax fan that will admit to liking Thomander the trip at center was obvious the holding, the trip right after he called us. and he called us for tripping the Gatineau player fell if thats a penalty it must be new to the rule book!!! Holy cow there's not a ref I hate as much as Thomander he's so blind!!! And thus begins the Airing of Grievances. ;D Who do I have to pin in the feats of strength?

Didn't Clarke take his hemet off during the fight or just as it started ? That would be a 10 min. misconduct if he did.

No his only good shot noked the other guys helmet off and then Clarke got hit with a couple of good upercuts. He threw his helmet off in disguist after the fight had been broken up.
