I agree that Mariani is a great skater but IMO he moves himself better then he actually moves the puck, as jasonmacisaac implied.
Brodeur looks good, and I agree that a year in Jr. A may serve him well but as was said in this thread I fear we won't hear from him again. Especially since the QJAAAHL is not exactly a league known for developing dmen. Could he go back to MAAA, and would that even be beneficial to him?
I agree that Chouinard isn't looking as strong as camp progresses but I think he's shown enough to stick, given the available forward spots. Gouchie IMO is getting better as camp goes which is a great sign.
Watts is definitely in trouble. You can keep a guy like him around as long as there are "easy cuts" to make, but we're almost getting to the point in camp where everyone is major junior calibre or near close to it.
I have no doubts at this point that Ceccanese should make this team. MacDonald hasn't had the best camp but like I said there's not many more cuts to make up front so I think he'll be here again.
As for Sheppard, bias may figure in here but I think Minnesota would be wise to send him back for the sole reason the guy has yet to really play a FULL Q season without being hindered by injuries. Asking him to jump in and play a full NHL season I think would be a bit much.

Looking at Minnesota's roster the more I see Sheppard returning. Especially with the CBA factored in. THN had him on thr 5th line in their season preview so if he's THAT low on the depth chart i'll be suprised if he spends the full season there.

Risebrough was quoted during the Rookie Camp that he would be taking a very long look at him in the main camp and he would entertain the idea of putting him between Rolston and Bouchard. If he dominates the Traverse City Rookie Tournament then he will play a lot in the Exhibition Schedule for The Wild.Look also for a Veteran Centre who is on the Bubble to most likely entice James into a physical altercation,it's the Nature of the Beast when "paying" jobs are on the line !

Back to the game, how the hell did a rookie Olivier Dame-Malka end up fighting a 20-year-old very experienced scrapper in Ryan Graham?
Kudos to Dame-Malka for still being able to stand at the end of it......... I'm just wondering how the heck that ended up happening.

I heard Brad did have a lower back injury in camp. After the fight last night we didn't see him any more. He aggravated it and was going to physio today. As for last nights game the foggies only had 5 rookies in the line up and 15 returning players and we had 9 returning players and 11 rookies on the team. I felt we did quite well as a whole still out shot them 27 to 21 . The fights worked out 1-1 and a tie despite the size advantage going to the Fog Devils IMO. I also felt Mr. Bean's comments were pretty much right on. We had 12 returning players 13 if you count Marion Stanley Allard Pomerleau Debuc O'Keefe Graham Adam Pennell Layton MacDougall Boland Fillier As for the quality of those vets At least 2 will not make the team so It was a little mismatched but not by that much.

Graham really took it to him but Dame-Malka never gave up, he just had no chance against Graham. Not sure why he's out there fighting rookies though and its something he definitely would not of done if Gallant was on the bench.

We were not that mis-matched. Some of our rookies from last night will be on the final team and 2 of them were our Euro's. It won't be long until our fans(not all but most will imo) are calling for big changes as it's gonna be a very long year and we have not had to go through that much and the most recent time we did, we still had the #1 overall NHL draft pick to keep us entertained. Personally I realize we're in for a tough year, and have already accepted it. But there are those out there who don't seem to realize you can't have your ups without some downs when it comes to the CHL and rebuilding cycles.

I didn't notice anything beforehand to bring it on which is why I was pissed there was nothing done about it by our bench. I can live with young guys developing but no way should management expect us to support a team if we're being embarassed in our own rink like that on a nightly basis. Pascal touched on it a bit today, said they'll remember that Allard fight but imo the problem was the Graham fight as we should not have 20yr olds running around fighting 17yr old rookies with probably zero fighting experience. I realize we're not going to see a Davis or Lahache type to go with Gallant(if he is even here) but we need someone to watch over our stars and young guys if that's what we're going to be dealing with.

Laberge came over and played top 2 lines pp, pk and has never had a big night. Its bound to happen though because even now hes playing top line and one of these nights hes going to score 2-3 times and we are going to say how great hes doing. Theirs 5-6 young guys with top 2 line duty, who can do what Laberge does pk, pp, and get the experince they need to improve. But i agree hes a better face off guy. Theirs no one even close to Gallant in what he does . With that hes been their for 2 years fighting Giants and has been a big part of the charactor that C B has had in that time. If you dont keep him hopfully he comes to a team that really wants him and understands what he brings to his team and what he puts in the other teams head. Also if the rough stuff started last night after Gallant left, in your rink what do you think is going to happen in their rink after he is gone,if he leaves.

There's all this focus on Ryan, but Ryan is Ryan so he's going to do what he does. No surprises there. But what about JS Allard! He never fights. Someone please explain that one!
