hal, I'll repeat what I said before. If the shareholders did give Mario the green light, they have no business complaining about the outcome and dwindling attendance the next 2-3 years and Mario should be safe in his positions to continue this "Master Plan". murph, we gave up Rd1, 2011 which could end up being the 1st overall pick which is a pretty nice rebuilding tool. I also don't believe the Eagles and Mario can change course now because we would have given away those 2 picks plus LeSieur who may still develop into a pretty solid player. I've heard that 2011 1st round pick is headed back at the draft for a future overager. Even if that isn't the case (and it really has no bearing on Adam), Adam will bring in more than a 1st rounder. He'd probably bring in a 1st in 2010 (more valuable than 2011), plus a young prospect that upgrades Le Seiur, and another quality assets, like a 2nd, or a player at the draft.

murph, I really hope you're right about that R1, 2011 pick coming back but Shawinigan may have a choice of keeping that pick or trading it for a certain player like it happened with Moncton deciding to take Scott Brannon.
I agree 100% that Adam would bring in a lot more just like you said and that's exactly why so many of us disagree with the whole "Buy" plan.
Whatever happens I'll continue to cheer for the Eagle players the rest of the year. I like 99% of the Eagle fans appreciate an honest 60 minute effort regardless of the outcome. With Adam away Nick MacNeil has seemed to elevate his play while playing at center instead of the wing and Olivier might be playing his best hockey of the year. Hopefully, the 10 game victory streak (I think?) over Halifax doesn't come to an end for quite awhile.

I really hope Allen doesn't come here. Of course i would love to have a top notch goalie like him, but Roy is strong enough. If they really wanna upgrade and compete, they need to use a Roy at the draft to get a guy like legace.

You're not getting Allen without Roy, and Montreal has no need for Roy. It doesn't seem like a fit. To get a guy like Legace, I think it costs you Ellis now, plus Roy at the draft. Even then, I still say you're the 3rd best team in the division. Maybe the season ticket holders should start a petition like Gatineau did a couple years ago in order to keep Claude Giroux. Let the team know you don't want to be buyers.

So who that is left are the brians targeting? They haven't made any moves to make us better yet although Moncton has and PEI seen the writing on the wall. We are still not even close to Saint John and you know they will add to keep up with Moncton.

There is no doubt the eagles will improve thier team in the next week..............they paid a lot for legault............but from what I can see, so far he seems to be making a difference in the team.............he adds a few pounds to others and he has the ability to make a play.............changing the goalie makes little sense, unless there is something unknown..........a couple of more strong forwrds does.

I guess Saint John has tightened up on the back end with apparently getting Cousineau from PEI

RDS columnists who have been pretty accurate to date are almost 95% certain that Allen, Dion and Wall will be going to Cape Breton and Roy and Shaw move now and Meilleur at the draft. Apparently they are still kicking the tires on Legace. The only hesitation Martel is having is Legace is very probable to return as an over ager. I am sure if Cape Breton aquires Legace he will be moved to another team at the draft as well. Some behind the scene agreements are trying to be ironed out.

It could still happen, but it makes no sense for lagace to come back as a 20, he is drafted and on pace for 60 or more goals...

The only part i understand is were basically getting The three players for roy. Meilleur at the draft won't hurt us and shaw to me is not improving at all. If anything is he going backwards. If it goes through, they must be planning on trading their other goalie at the draft for some more depth. Its funny how if it happens, the junior will have 5 former eagles, along with three 20 yr old's Gouchie Choinard and Meilleur.
