Im pretty excited to read the post tomorrow. I bet it will something along the lines like " this gives us the offense we need, and we have 4 good d". What a joke.

So basically the eagles fans hopes of trading away the core is out the window and were now a buyer? I know for a fact from the inside (believe it or not) that ellis will not be moved even at the draft. So Roy is really our only trade bait and picks. You guys couldn't load up even if you wanted to, even with trading Ellis. You're still at least 3 impact players short. It'll take Ellis and a 1st just to get one of them. Not enough in the cupboards to fill all your needs. I think you'll probably see the 2011 1st rounder come back to CB for a player at the draft. Maybe MacDougall, Meilleur or Brodeur. This team is obviously blind to the reality of what's going on around it in the division so I wouldn't rule out anything.

They obviously have a shot at an upset in round 1, but realistically going 4 rounds against teams like Moncton, St.John, Victo Drum RN Quebec is not going to happen.

If I were the GM of an Atlantic division team like PEI, Halifax or Bathurst I'd be on the phone trying to sell to Cape Breton for what they have left plus draft picks so I wouldn't have to worry about them for several years!

And it apparently doesn't matter at all that the team on ice and on paper doesn't come close to matching what Saint John and now Moncton (Riopel, Bourque, and Deschamps added already) bring to the table. The sad thing is all this mediocrity will be rewarded with a contract extension before a playoff game is even played and this idiot will be in charge for 2+ more years.

Who the hell trades multiple 1st round picks, veterans, and youngsters to build teams that have chances at upsets? It's the lack of direction that's the most frustrating. Where were all these picks last year when everyone wanted too much?

This team as AT LEAST a scorer and a d away from having a prayer. What's left on the shelf? Not sure what picks are there, put with ellis as a lock apparently, roy at the draft? How much different is this team gonna look jan 8th? Fustrating to be an eagle fan but i guess it's a wait and see kind of thing.

If a Montreal trade is in the works, would a trade of Olivier Roy to Montreal help solve some of our immediate problems? Could Jake Allen and a D be coming this way?
Having asked that question, I have to admit that I have no idea about what is going on or why. Moncton has addressed their biggest need already and I'm pretty sure St. John will respond to Moncton's moves because they are in a very good position to do so with their depth and good young players.

I could wouldnt mind seeing Alex Wall coming back this way If we gave up anymore then Roy and a late pick for Allan.... It would be foolish Im sure if PV works hard enough he will have all the ol boys from the Eagles back on his team

Yeah, I was just wondering if they would have tryed to get him insted of Legault. I've only seen Legault play 3-4 times can someone fill me in on what type of player we should expect.

hal, I never would have considered the Eagles reading Olivier Roy until a couple of months ago either but I just don't see a way out of this mess. What do the Eagles have left to trade if they are going for it?
This team will be losing 9 players next year in the 3 20's (whoever they are in the end?) and 6 of the nine 19 year olds. We just lost LeSieur and a draft pick. That Rd 1 2011 pick could turn out to be the 1st overall pick. Nice thought!
