Karma for all you CB fans for making fun of Saint John with "Our Team, Our Time" fiasco. ;D
Just kidding, but really I have no idea what CB is trying to accomplish here.

Like a previou poster stated neither do the Eagles Management ! Hard to understand, but the team with a little tinkering will or could be a strong contender this season. Maybe it is time for somebody behind the bench to get off the Island !

I sure hope the players don't read this crap because they wouldn't have much confidence. Its fair to say whats going on is not right but Max needed a change IMO. Still don't think Ward would be the same coming back if he even came back and didn't do much this year. Only part of the deal i don't like is the 1st.
Next few years WILL be rough but he better still be making deals. He talks about the goalie in two years so theres no reason Roy needs to be in an eagle uniform next year. Him and picks and maybe a bergeron or something can bring in more impact players i believe. Just trying to take what little positive there is in this.

I think if he's moved at all it will be next year during the trade period like Allen this year. Hell they might even hold out that he's back as an overager.....I mean Hertzberg is already pencilled in. Why did a 17yr old developing forward need a change in scenery? And from what I hear Legault isn't 100% either so him for an injured Ward isn't a huge upgrade except for the next 4-6 weeks. We moved a captain, developing 17yr old, AND 1st rounder for a player who will be here for half a season where we are not a contender. I'd call that a pretty bad trade unless this is now a 30 team league where we're in the top 1/4 rather then this 18 team league where we'll be lucky to be in the top 1/2 once everyone plays the same amount of games.

What a mess!! We have our coach/GM in the paper talking about guys who might never make a Q roster, as possible building blocks for a Memorial Cup host in two seasons. As someone else said, some of the comments in today's Post could be the fodder for jokes for months or years from now!!!! In the Ward trade alone, we repeated two famous mistakes from the disastrous 2004 season for the price of one. 1) The Maxime Lessard Rule -"Never trade your captain." Well, we just traded a "co-captain" (naming two captains was a completely stupid idea in the first place). What the hell is the point of giving a guy the "C" if you're just going to trade him? Isn't the designation of captaincy supposed to be a way of establishing leadership on a hockey team? Didn't this organization trumpet for five-six years how important it was that we had well-established leadership? 2) The Karl Fournier Rule - "It's Probably Not Good Karma To Dump The Injured Guy." I'm pretty certain that if Ward was healthy, they wouldn't have even given dealing him a thought. He was traded because we thought we might get something for the injured guy. Same thing as the Karl Fournier-Nic Corbeil trade...... that ended up looking good in the end. And the trading Ward part is actually the least puzzling part of this deal. Giving away a 17-year-old with talent in LeSieur, and a first round pick (even if it's coming back for something at the draft), to basically make a lateral 20-year-old move now when it's clear we don't have what it takes either on paper or on the ice to beat Moncton or Saint John in the playoffs = wow. The "Will Over Skill" years were fun and rewarding. Those years of building from within based on character players and hard work is how we built one of the most stable fanbases in the Q......... but folks, for now and possibly the next few years, those days are over. Now we're back to the same mindset we had in 2004. "Who cares about the future, or about what's right...... let's just try and be good right now and let the rest take care of itself." No long-term plan, whatsoever, for the hometown team we've all been so proud of over the years. Our stable and loyal fanbase deserves a heck of a lot better.

Very frustrating times right now. My worry is that is this small group of fans sees this as a problem, what are the 2000 season ticket holders going to think as this moves forward? 1 1st round exit this year isn't going to mean much in the grand scheme of things to the fan base but what happens after next year if what we all think will happen actually does? I'm sure there were quite a few laughs out of QMJHL GM's reading Durocher say he's going after a Memorial Cup with Verroneau, Saab, Herrett, Jodoin, Boudreau-Plouffe, Parker, Shaw and Riguse as contributing players. Yet he leaves out Cuzner who is probably the best of the bunch of younger kids right now. Hard to believe we're already down LeSieur and a 2011 1st and haven't improved any since it came at the cost of giving away Ward.

If this is move 1 of 3-4 it may make sense... but even then does CB have the youth and assets to make those other trades to make the improvements they need to make. At the moment though this one makes me think CB could finally see a few down years and the payoff of a big year/this year could be far from worth the price.

I don't fully understand this trade. Doesn't seem great, in my opinion. Maybe there's more deals that will be happening will put the entire situation into perspective. Its almost like...they're not selling, but, they're not buying. Pointless.
