Though I must say I'm impressed by how much time you spend paying attention to my posts.

Ok here's my take on the game. First of all the good. Goaltender played very well. Made himself look big, giving the Rocket players nothing to shoot at. When needed, his reflexes were excellent. #10 played a solid game. His confidence with the puck really stood out. He also had an active stick in the defensive zone, breaking up nemerous opportunities. #20 is going to be a player. He's small but is a natural skater and is very light on his skates. His awareness stood out for me, as he was in the proper position most of the time. 55 and 44 played well on the D. Now for the bad. I don't know what Russell is going to do with Clarke. That kid is throwing away what could be a very good junior career. he obviously has his own agenda, which has little to do with the rest of the team. Immature and selfish is how I'd describe him. He has all the tools, why he wastes his time doing these stupid things is beyond me. #6, Lala described him as being better than Stoddard and Costello. My grandmothers better than Stoddard so that's not saying much, but Lali and I are going to has a real disagreement in respect to Costello. The 2nd and 3rd goal were a direct result from #6's poor positioning. In the defensive zone he looked completely lost. One of Costello's strengths is his defensive play. There is a huge difference between these 2 in this case. To me, the game was just too fast for 6. 63 didn't play much, but did nothing to show he belonged, was very slow coming back into his end too many times. A good skater, but this team has enough passengers as it is. Stoddard and Pelletier did their usual waste of icetime act. Desjardins was invisable most of the game, but did score a sweet goal. The fights, not sure why Metcalfe fought on behalf of Clarke, but was a stand up thing to do, fairly even tilt, both got a few good shots in. Hanny's was more of a wrestling fest, a few shots in while they were down. Thane as usual was terrible. chincy calls, missed obvious penalties, and a few obscure calls that had me shaking my head. The Rocket are no longer a decent team, fans of Halifax should be disapointed by this effort. Vye is terrible. The Moosehead challenged him only a few times I know full well that one game is not enough to fully assess a player. That's why I mentioned it in the first place. That's also why I talked about possibilities. Boy you really don't like being called out. I am a former NHL and Q scout, sorry those are the facts. You talk about my "bias" towards Cornwall players, yet if you happen to notice, I have been a bit critical of Andrews. It's all about what I feel a players abilities are in relation to their effort. Andrews can be an excellant player, but he's not showing it yet. Costello before his injury was getting to where he can be, and that is an effective defensively aware player who can pop in the odd goal. How you can call that a bias, I don't know. I've never over sold him, just said that he is an honest hockey player, the kind most successful teams need as a complimentary player. You have your opinions, I have mine. At the end of the day we are both professional, I follow your posts because you've seen players much more than I do now, and assume you are dead on 90 % of the time. In this case it's one of the 10%, that's all When you submitted your reports to the NHL team you scouted for, did you do them all in one gigantic paragraph? Using paragraphs isn't a complicated issue my friends.

You think Costello is better than Wigginton...i disagree...does that mean I just called you out? Nope.

Sorry, you are right Lala, a poor choice of words. Howitzer, I was thinking the same thing. I've always been bad for that, going back to my highschool/university days just writing freethought before putting things in proper essay form. My scouting reports were in graded form firstly with short point form notes when applicable. When I was scouting Voracek and MacMillan, I tended to have so long meandering notes that I would have to whittle down before submitting

In my conversations with Russell, I have found him to be an honest man which goes a long way with me. I may not agree with all of his player decisions, but he is working off of a game plan. He really needs a few players to step up next year, ie Andrews, Clarke and Boudreau and get rid of the deadweight to make for an exciting young team that the fans can rally around. Personally, I would have gone younger this year in hopes that the group could grow together, sort of try to speed the process up a bit. Every team needs vetrans to learn from, but Pelletier, Stoddard and Bahm in particular have let this team down in my opinion. You might as well call up players like Boudreau to show their stuff and at least get an idea what they are in for next year. I hate to bring up Myers name, but players like him and Mcguigan and others who are going to get a real shot at making the team next year could use a few games in the show. How could that be worse than having 3 20 year olds on your 4th line. you played 2 today, assess them, then try a few more. Use the rest of the season to guage where your prospects really are

elvis i agree with you when it comes to some of the players that russell decided to keep.they just do not belong.he may be an honest man that works hard but this does not make him (russell) a good gm/coach.i said from day one that this team had nothing to offer this year and less to offer next year. this team needs an experienced person who has a hockey brain and in my opinion that excludes russell do to the fact that he has no brain.good night

I'm proud of this young team we may not win a lot of hockey games but as long as its exciting for the fans and for the kids to grow; I can see this team being a contender in a few years its part of the rebuilding and the growing pains that both Halifax and Lewiston are suffering this year. But I will watch as long as the kids work hard and they ice an exciting hockey team that feeds off each other and hard work; I don't recommend dumping them now they need fan support more than ever and I strongly believe that. To Be honest I'm shocked that PEI won the game I thought they were selling the farm they've traded their top 2 offensive players and their number 1 goalie in the last week; and I've read that their not done yet. Thomander is an idiot he's probably half the reason we lost he hates Halifax for some reason; not entirely blaming the loss on him but just saying thats the way I've always found it when he's officiated in Halifax. I hate when the officials decide the outcome of the game that should be up to the teams and who works harder not the idiot officials.

Knotek (World Jr.s - scored 3 today I hear) Andrews (Under 17s and was player of the game a few times) Bety (suspended) Bahm (now out with fractured wrist) Lemieux (out with an injured wrist... apparently its healed but he may have mono) Desjardins was sick but is now back and we have Boudreau, Belanger and Wigginton playing in their first few games in the Q... between good news (having player representing their country and in the inder 17s and playing well) and bad luck our top 9 forward have taken a beating lately.
Now on D it sounds like Clarke took a sucker punch and may have a consussion and Hannay cut his leg and may miss a bit of time.
A bit of good news... some good trades... would go a long ways right now.
Forgot about Costello's broken thumb and I guess Metcalfe is sick as well.

Oh misunderstanding and yes I read what I post; read the thread earlier and thought someone mentioned Thomander was his usual bad self. I didn't say on this particular occasion he decided the game I was just generally Saying I hate(I.e. Pet Peeve of mine) is when the officials decide the outcome of any game and not the teams that are playing it; by calling chinsy penalties and needless penalties, I especially hate makeup calls!!!

Knotek led the team with 9 points in 5 games, and even made the highlight reel with his blocked shot/long breakaway pass against the Russians (?). Great to see. As for Clarke, yeah I keep reading that Clarke was going towards/at a guy he went knee on knee with and then some other guy punched him? How did this happen? Was it a sucker punch? The guy can't stay in the lineup for a variety of reasons. I love the edge he plays with but they need to keep him more hockey focused if he is to have the impact he CAN have next year.

It wasn't a sucker punch to Clarke it was well deserved.
