so you pound those top 4 D with your physical forwards and wear them down... and expose their 5th and 6th D I think Moncton gets way too overrated on these boards..... yes they have loaded up and look to be the team to beat now on paper..... but the game isn't won on paper... and who knows how all these new additions will fit in chemistry wise...... they've also been quite injury prone this year as well... if that continues who knows? you can't change what your team has decided to do you can either support it or condemn it.. I guess if I were you (or a Moncton fan or even a SJ fan) I'd be happy knowing my team is built to contend now... it's going to be a hell of a playoff for whomever survives the Q this year.... at least you have a shot the time to condemn these moves if they backfire is at the draft next June I don't even necessarily disagree with that. Especially considering no one knows how all the new additions are going to fit in. Certainly have every reason to be optimistic about our chances though. Anyway did you ever think that YOU overrate Cape Breton way too much on these boards? Ever notice that the majority of Eagles fans never agree with what you have to say about their team/franchise? If you were an Eagles fan you would be the happiest one around...

I agree with Jack 100%. I wish the Eagles had bought last year like this year because we had several leaders and warriors who had played here in CB for 3, 4, and even 5 years who showed up every night and gave their best effort and got the same type of effort from most of their teammates. I honestly feel that those players "earned" the very same opportunity that the players this year have been "given".
I say "given" because I've seen far too many performances like last night this year, especially here at home. I can't believe the prices last year could have been any higher than the prices we've seen this year, that have been paid, despite Moncton and St. John being very substantial roadblocks to post season success. Even if the Eagles get draft picks back in June it's going to be a very tough go, the next several years because the fans have been used to winning regular season teams.
How will the Eagles overpower any team, let alone Moncton, in a series if we have many of our biggest players getting 1 hit a night! How will the Eagles match up well with our top 4 D when we usually have at least 1 of them having an off night! What happens if we have 1 injury to any D, especially 1 of our top 4 in a series this year?
After all the wheeling and dealing, Moncton has added Kelsey Tessier and Alex Wall to their very solid team, so it may be all for nothing. Moncton has played with injuries all year but "BATTLES EVERY NIGHT" and finds some way to win a lot of games. We have not seen anything close to their best lineup yet this year!

It's never bothered me to have people disagree with my thoughts before, why should it start now?
and yes if I were an eagle fan I'd be very happy... and would have been for the past 5 years unlike being a Rocket season ticket holder

I like the group of forwards we have. Adam, Lagace, Legault, Horyl, MacNeil, and Hertzberg are a solid top 6 and Cuzner, Dion, MacDougall make a nice third line. Mario paid alot for Lagace and Legault (Dion trade was pretty reasonable) but atleast he got big names not just patch work. The only thing that bothers me is to go that far and not add a D-man. A Wall, Groulx or even Amyot would have been nice seeing how we traded Ward and only picked up Paul. Like some others said what happens if we lose 1 of our top 4 D to injury?
I guess after today I am going to hope Moncton over takes Saint John so we avoid the Cats in the first round. No offense to Saint John but Moncton looks more scary after today.

He said that a month ago on twitter but I may be wrong. Oh ok well it's been reported in the paper for the past few weeks that he will be back in mid-February. That's assuming everything goes according to plan of course.

Kababov is out for the season according to John Moore. That is an incorrect quote from John Moore. Here was his statement on Dec 15th: Note the key word "May"

Kababov is out for the season according to John Moore. That is an incorrect quote from John Moore. Here was his statement on Dec 15th: Note the key word "May" Recently they have been saying Mid-February. Kabanov at the rink this week was saying a month(aerly Feb) as his cast is off.
