So with Lew rebuilding and what not is there any reason to believe that it will be Vernou? going to Lew at the draft and Roy going else where as Lew is "rebuilding" and Vernou would be a better fit for there young team?
* sorry for the spelling*

How the hell do people like Serge Savard get into management? His Father bought the team ... otherwise he'd be an equipment manager on a Jr AAA team.

Where will the Memorial Cup be in 2012.... Saint John... or Shawinigan? With all the picks that Martel has stockpiled ... I'll say Chicoutimi ... I think it will be in Quebec wherever it is.

This trading period raised more questions than answers, IMO. Like the following... Why would Lewiston, a team with more than half players 17 or younger, give up a 16 and a 18 year old for a goalie that will only be in the league one more year? Because..they can trade him next year for a better 16 and 18 year old hah

Because..they can trade him next year for a better 16 and 18 year old hah You beat me to it, lala.... We are still scratching our heads here a bit after the moves today. I think most of the folks here are resigned to the fact that, if it is Roy coming, that was an OK move. Beaton got a little bit less than I personally thought he would be worth, and the team, IMO, overpaid, if only slightly, for Bissonette, given his upside. It will be interesting to sticky this in my mind and see what he develops into, and figure out what he would have cost if Lewy wanted to add him as an 18 or 19. Basically, here is what Lewiston's trade pattern this year worked out to be: Out: Piette (90) J. Houle (92) Trudeau (91) Dillman (92) Gelinas (91) Woodworth (93) Beaton (90) 1st 2010 5th 2010 (CB) 5th 2010 (MTL) 6th 2010 (RIM) 7th 2010 (Lew) 7th 2011 (Lew) In: Hlinka (91) Carre (91) Critchlow (91) Tanguy (92) Rodrigue (91) Evans-Renaud (92) Saab (92) Bissonette (92) Roy??? (91) 5th 2010??? (GAT) I didn't include the 3rd from Gat for Beaton because it was basically flipped in the Bissonette deal, and the two with are the rumored pieces from a pair of deals that have yet to be completed.

You gave up a top 5 pick plus a 3rd and 5th for Bissonnette....to me he isnt worth a top 5 pick let alone more picks.
He is like a 5 tool player in baseball...all the talent, but those guys rarely turn out to be 5 tool major leaguers...they may be good at maybe 3 of those 5 area's but they get by with hype for most of their careers.

Why is Rouyn-Noranda taking full advantage of this quirky playoff format... but Quebec isn't? I'm not sure but didn't R-N already have Caron coming from the trades last year? Then they just decided to keep on adding and have built themselves a darn good team. As for Quebec I really have no idea. They could have easily gotten the #2 seed for the playoffs and been in real good position. I don't think they'll be a slouch come playoff time but if I'm Moncton/CB I hope to line up with them for Round 2. How come we're going for it, but our D actually got worse on paper during the trading period? I've been questioning the Eagles going for it right from the start so I couldn't tell you. I'm sure bois will have an answer for you though on the great decisions the Eagles have made this year and what a reward it is for their fans Why didn't Saint John do more? Couple things here that are based purely on what I heard. First of all they had a deal for Lagace lined up but one of the players headed to Chicoutimi said he wouldn't report so that put the kibosh on that deal. Secondly it seems as though Wayne Long (President) had way too much input on the hockey decisions being made. They had some deals that were being nixed by him because it would hurt them for 2012. That seems quite foolish as they didn't even have to do that much to makes themselves the team to beat this year and would have had assets to trade next year to build for 2012. I still think they're a dangerous team and, barring a collapse or Moncton/CB catching absolute fire, will be in a great position seedings wise come playoff time. Teams like Moncton will quite frankly look pretty silly if SJ wins the Q without having made any moves and not sacrificing any of their future. They will probably have rest on their side going into the 3rd round so really anything can happen... Where will the Memorial Cup be in 2012.... Saint John... or Shawinigan? Saint John...? I'm wondering if they will give it to another team from NB just six years after Moncton hosted it though. I think the Q really blew it by not awarding the MC to Shawinigan last season so maybe they make amends? Steve mentioned Chicoutimi but I'm not sure I see the Memorial Cup being hosted there anytime soon. Hard to say where it will go at this point. I don't think the Eagles traded away any of those Memorial Cup blue chippers they had so maybe it will be in Cape Breton Weren't the renovations being made to C200 at least partly to solidify a Memorial Cup bid?

Funny reaction's here... usually when a team adds a league top scorer in a blockbuster deal, everyone is pumped. Obviously by not patching other holes, it may all be for nothing and just hurt your team in the future...ala Brad Marchand deal. Everyone was pumped, and sat their waiting for a Lessard-type D next, and nothing happened.
You should have sold IMO... You guys could have added LBD and Brown quality assets, for example, if Moncton were willing to spend that on Tessier.
If you had a coach who seemed to be able to squeeze every bit of potential out of his lineup, maybe you'd look better to me. But Durocher is pretty average in terms of coaching skill.

Saint John... or Shawinigan? Weren't the renovations being made to C200 at least partly to solidify a Memorial Cup bid? I said before the trade period started I thought the Eagles should sell, however the GM repeatedly said they were going to buy.... all I've said is I don't think they've destroyed their future with these trades and if I were a fan of them I'd be pleased because they are a better team now than they were before the trade period started.... as for 2012.. I really don't know why everyone is factoring that into their dissection of what teams did/didn't do this year.... so many variables are in play before 2012 that it is fooolish for any team to make their hockey decisions now on the hopes of perhaps beating out 3-4 other teams for the right to land the Cup in 2 and a half years time. If C200 was getting renovated to be able to host a 2012 Cup and they don't get it.. so what? The building is in better shape, the team is investing money (the city as well I presume) into their product, and sometime in the future they will likely get the opportunity to host said tourney In the meantime there is hockey to be played.... this is your team now.... get behind it
