What we want him to get and what we think he'll get may be two different things. There's been great discussion about the infraction, etc. Let's narrow it down to what he'll get.
This poll is to guess at what he will actually get.

Is it just me, or is a week a bit long to make a decision as to the suspension? Why the hell are they taking so long? The NHL will come out in a day or 2 with suspensions, and I don't believe Branch too a week to decide on how long to suspend Liambas for. So why is Courteau taking so long?
I know it's a big incident, a big call to make with many implications. I know he's got to do interviews with people, he had one with Branch, but to take a full 7 days to make a call on it?? Seems a bit much to me.

It took the Q brass 4 days to suspend Nic Petersen 1 game for removing a helmet on a fight. What does that tell ya?

They didn't want to make a decision during the Top Prospects coverage. Didn't want to take away from the game. Even still, it seems that David Branch has been doing the media circuit about the Cormier hit and not a word from Courteau....seems a bit odd!

I don't think the League has the balls to suspend him for the play-offs.

I voted the rest of regular season, however I feel he should get the rest of the season and playoffs. I do not care what anyone says it was premeditated. He came off the bench and made a beeline towards Tam. Tam did not move aside. Cormier meant to hurt and there is no place in hockey for that. I love a good hockey scrap but not this bull****. Hope the Q has some balls and shows that no one is above the rules and regulations, whether you play for the WJH team or not. Give him what he deserves. Sorry about my rant.

Regular season and 1st 2 rounds of the playoffs. If RN loses in the 1st round, tack another 7 games on to the start of next season in the unlikely event Cormier plays as a 20 year old.
That would make for a minimum of 28 games and maximum of 34, depending how long each series goes.

Kassian got 20 games
Of course Courteau isn't saying anything...the Q never say anything about suspensions. I'd be surprised if they say much at all when it's announced

Cormier gets reg season and playoffs, and is not allowed to play any other league under Hockey Canada jurisdiction. He has 5 days to appeal. The question now is, will he be playing pro by end of year. I don't think he should be allowed. All leagues no matter what level should honor suspensions. (announced on TSN.ca before the Q site...go figure.) www.tsn.ca/chl/story/?id=307618
