...... they're not pretty if you're an Eagles fan.
Cape Breton is now ~11~ points behind Moncton (ps - they still have two games in hand, to boot).
For all the talk there was of us battling Moncton down the stretch for 2nd place in the division and home ice in the first round......... Moncton is now actually closer to Saint John (9 points back) than they are to Cape Breton.
Maybe our focus instead, for right now, should be on PEI. They're now a point ahead of us (equal games played). That's right - the Eagles now sit 4th in the division. Nobody's posted that fact yet, but here we are with less than a month and a half to go in the season, staring it square in the face.
It's not a pretty picture, but often the best thing for a team in a funk is a real stiff challenge. Which our team will most likely get this weekend with a doubleheader against a very strong Victoriaville team.

Not sure how you've done vs. each team this year but I think facing Saint John would be the better option anyways.
But yeah 4-6 in your last 10 and things don't seem to be going too well. Not only did the buying strategy look like a questionable one but even the trades themselves don't seem to be working out all that great... not sure if any of the guys added are playing as expected. I know in Halifax your big addition Lagace just loked like a sook who liked to embelish.
I think with some consistency you guys can roll but CB is a bit all over the place lately... never sure what I'm going to see when checking a CB score. Score 8 or give up 8.

canbeer, I don't think it matters who we play.
Unlike the last 5 years when the fans knew they were going to get a 100% effort, just about each and every night, this year the fans don't really know what to expect from period to period, let alone game to game! That team commitment was there at home and on the road.

Doesn't bode well for that theory. never sure what I'm going to see when checking a CB score. Score 8 or give up 8. I don't know if you meant this to be more of a ballpark generalization........ or an actual hard statement based on recent fact. But if it was simply the former, nice call. In the span of a week, the Eagles both scored 8 and gave up 8......... against the same team no less (Baie-Comeau).

Eagles are the only team in the Q this season to give up that many goals against Baie-Comeau. That's even more astonishing when you consider they did it after trading Goulet and Bourque.

I must admit I'm surprised at how indifferent your team play has been this year and even moreso after the trade deadline..... I really thought Lagace and Adam together would be unstoppable... and they may still prove to be.. but so far they actually don't look that impressive at all
I still expect you guys to finish ahead of us and play Moncton in round one... but like others on here I think you stand a better shot at beating Saint John

4th place is all part of MulletHeads Plan .Apparently Super Mario wants to be the first Coach to take a Team from that Position all the way to the Title !

When was the last time that CB actually fired a Head Coach ? They gave PV 2nd and 3rd chances until he left on his own. I think they just don't know how to go and find another qualified person. The BOD didn't even hire Durocher ... PV brought him in ... and then they handed the job to him when PV left.

That;s what they do ! Even after a predicted 1st round exit they will probably keep him and they will justify it by saying..............................."Mario has a plan in place for 2012 and we feel he is the man to lead us to the Memorial Cup " ! Remember this guys foundation is in place already according to him regardless of what this Chemical Mess does Post Season . Any thought that they will do an exhaustive search is a very very remote possibility .Why don't they have a seperate GM and Coach ?....$$$$$$$ !

How much longer is Fabian Joseph's contract with Moncton? He might be a candidate for coach but I think they would need someone else for the GM role. How much money would an AUS coach make compared to a Q coach/gm? Gardiner MacDougall ?

Over ten years ago. And that was another example like the one you just mentioned of simply promoting from within instead of doing any sort of exhaustive search. When they fired Campbell, they promoted his assistant Pascal Vincent to the head coaching position. Same thing when PV left - they promoted Durocher. In both cases, I'm not sure if anyone else outside the organization was even considered.

This franchise has reached a plateau.........nothing will ever change untill ownership changes...........because they always do the quick and easy..........next coach will likely be john hanna.....then noah larose ;D ;D

How much money would an AUS coach make compared to a Q coach/gm? Gardiner MacDougall ? Top AUS coach doesn't make as much as a top Q coach (especially if he holds GM title as well). However a top AUS coach would make comparable money to a bottom tier Q coach. Plus there's far more stability in the AUS than the Q. It doesn't matter what Joseph's contract is with Moncton. All assistants have outs, if a head coaching job becomes available.
