Looks like I missed a good one. Nice to see Desjardins keep it rolling... his point total is closing in on last year after a slow start this year though I find he been getting chances all year, the pucks just haven't gone in as easily. How did the Hannay do against their big guy? He's really stepped up his game and interesting to see the 17 year old not hesitate against most of the top tough guys around the league. You didn't miss a good game but you did miss a good result, it wasn't one of the Herd's best efforts this year, PEI was definately the better team. Good to see them win in the shootout though.

we are only 8 behind Lewiston and 6 behind Bai-Comeau. Correction: 5 behind Baie-Comeau and 10 behind Lewiston (they beat Moncton tonight) If we aren't going to catch Lewiston, I hope we don't pass Baie-Comeau...

Thanks I just noticed that but we are 5 behind Bai-Comeau and 10 behind Lewiston; we do you hope we don't pass Bai-Comeau? we have to pass both teams don't we to get into the playoffs? and we got 5 out of 6 at home the last few weeks with 2 in Rimouski this weekend!

He is aware we need to get past two teams to make the playoffs. He is saying that if we can;t pass Lewiston he wouldn't want us to pass Baie Comeau because he probably, like myself, would prefer Halifax to get the 3rd overall European import draft pick.

Is it normal for healthy scratches to stay home or was Clarke told not to attend? www.metronews.ca/halifax/blog/post/448406The Halifax Mooseheads defenceman was a healthy scratch last night as head coach and general manager Cam Russell continued to punish him for a lack of discipline. Don't believe everything you see or read. At practice yesterday it was clear he was sick and some were saying at tonight's game he has the flu and possible Strep Throat and was told to remain at home. From metroqfiles via Twitter --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just to clarify on Garrett Clarke, for anyone wondering. Cam Russell was clear after the game that Clarke sat as a healthy scratch.

Certainly not the best game the Moose have played this year but nice to get the win in a shootout. Delmas deserved a star as he held them in the game and didn't have a chance on three of the four goals. I thought PEI might switch goalies after the third Moose goal as they all went in high glove side but they stuck with Vye and he did make a few glove saves later in the game. Knotek's first goal was a thing of beauty(second one wasn't shabby either). I don't know where we'd be without him. I have to say the defensive pair of Bishop and Hanney make me very nervous when they're out together. They have a tough time getting the puck out of their own end. Also if Hanney is going to be our resident tough guy, he needs to learn how to fight. I have yet to see him hold his own in a bout this season.

Not a great game overall. Both teams lacked energy and passion. Those mid week games are famous for performances just like that. Two teams coming out playing lackluster hockey. But a win is a win, especially doing it when we blew a lead, then battled back to win the shootout.
Delmas was strong again. One word comes to my mind when I think of him since we've acquired him, and that is consistant. He's been solid in every game. Hasn't allowed many weak goals, makes saves at crucial times, with the occasional "big" save, and his rebound control has been good. For a 6th rounder he was a steal the moment the deal was made. It's an even bigger theft for the team given his play. With all that being said, I hope Corbeil heals quickly and gets back in the net. He hasn't played a lot since Delmas came on board, and now with this injury he's seen even less ice time. I want to see him play.
Desjardin's game has picked up big time, and its all because he's becoming more refined. He still has moments where he's out of control and his head is up the ice before he and the puck even get to centre ice, but he's settling down, and making plays now. He's on the puck better, his stick handling has improved and he's more confident with the puck. Proof is the beauty set-up he gave for Bahm's goal. Before x-mas he would have come across the line and just put a slapper on net. Now he's more confident, comfortable and is making plays. It was nice to see Russell reward him with the promotion to the top line. Grant needed a kick in the ass, and Desjardins was more then ready to move up.
I like Grant, but he's got to simplify his game. He has the ability to make plays and be a set up, but I think sometimes he thinks he Niklas Backstrom out there. The toe drags, trying to go through 4 guys, the blind passes....just take the puck to the damn net. All this fancy stuff needs to go out the window. Its ok from time to time, and it might work 1 out of 10 times, but just make the simple play.

I heard last night Cam still has Clarke on the sidelines healthy <Mod Edit - removed speculation on players personal life>..I see Cam moving him at June draft and trade period as such as I love the kid he has to if he does not want to play under the rules of Mooseheads on and off ice...

Fred, where do you get this crap. I know his billets. He's been with the same billet for the entire season and they are very happy with him. It's this kind of shit these kids don't need. While I'll be the first to admit he's had problems with discipline on the ice, there has not been any reports of off ice issues and according to his billets he's a great kid and they plan on having him back next season. Stick to the facts when posting. If you apparently "love the kid" you would not be posting this crap.

Usually it is all shit from a certain person 2012 ! Get use to it. ;D ;D Hey Freddie, apparently Clarke is spending most of the summer with his current billets. They must plan on kicking him out in September during training camp. ;D Oh, and so you know Freddie he's been home most of the week with the flu and will not be going to Rimouski. That should bode well for another great rumor for you to start.

I love Desi and I love Clarke he needs to be more disciplined on the ice but what 17 year old kid isn't undisciplined there still teenagers and maturing he'll learn in time; and as for moving him in the draft in June I don't see that happening he's got the makings of a great D-man and he leads the D in scoring!!!

Clarke has enough to deal with right now after his benching without a lot of stupid rumours being started about him. But I don't understand why Russell is telling the media that Clarke was a healthy scratch last night if he really had the flu.
