Clarke absolutely steamed rolled those 2 guys. The first one was on Peterson I believe. The 2nd one was MacAuley and he just got rag dolled.
Those games are fun, but also a bit scary. It's games like that where guys get injured. The ref was terrible. Missed calls, shitty calls, it was brutal. He almost lost control of the game.
Good to see Russell show some emotion behind the bench and work the ref. I wish we saw more of that out of him.

How is it the Moose seem to get screwed over by the refs in the first period of almost every game. The ref didn't decide tonight's game as the Moose are outmatched vs. SNB and a bad 3minute stretch sealed it but the ref sure did turn the game into a shit storm or anger and dirty plays. For a second it seemed like Depres's sucker punch on Clarke was almost going to turn into a bench clearer as tensions were high, the Moose were pissed and SNB had about 10 guys on the ice at the time.
What ticks me off is that you look at the end stats and see the PPs were 8-6 SNB and it looks close but don't see that half of those calls against SNB came late after the game was decided.
So BS reffing aside... is Saint John now our best rival? Despite the top vs. bottom we've given them some tough games and they've been the most intense and angry games of the year. It will be interesting to if it carries into next season when they're a bit closer. I think it partly comes from the coaches... as the both like the tougher side of the game
Clarke was a beast tonight... if you give him a couple points (he had 6 shots and could have had a couple) then tonight you get a glimpse of the impact he can have... and he's only 17. He drew penalties and was getting SNB off of their game on top of steamrolling a few of their players. Petersen has probably been their best player vs. Hali and Clarke ran him over like he wasn't even there... MacAulay, he got hit even harder. He was involved, he did it cleanly (his penalty was the softest knee I've seen called) and he's going to be pissing off the East for a few years to come.
Corbeil played great early... big first period but it was too bad to see the team fall apart for those 3 minutes. Desjardins get put back on the top line and their first shift he throws a beauty pass for the Knotek goal. Not sure if SNB is just bad in the circle but the centres tonight won a big percentage and did very well.
Tough to see the team so crippled with injuries but it was a hard nosed, entertaining game where sportsmanship was out the window.

**Mod post**
Watch the name calling guys/gals. Just because a ref does a bad/terrible/horrendous job, that doesn't make them a piece of monkey feces.

I don't usually say too much about the guys in stripes but tonight was out of control and when that happens it becomes dangerous for the players. On some game notes I really liked Phillips for SJ tonight. Not a great skater but he gets himself in the right places to make plays. Smart player. He's going to do well over the next two or three years in the league. Corbeil played well until the 3rd however I will give him credit, he played great the first two periods and I think our guys just plain ran out of steam in the 3rd and SJ showed why they are # 1. And yes, the ref didn't help our cause. I think Clarke has probably played to Cam's expectation's since being benched. No question he has the talent and certainly keeps the other team nervous when he's on the ice. It's kind of like watching a shark when he steps on the ice, he's just watching the play anticipating an opportunity for a big hit, reads it and goes for the kill. Anyway, only 2 games back, we'll see if he can keep his discipline under control.

wow i wonder why it seems that Clarke guy gets "suckered" every game? His hits were actually clean last night; Macaulay was pissed off at himself by the looks of it going off the ice because he knew he didn't have his head up.
