I agree canbeer, 7 penalties to 1 make the Eagles seem like they were saints out there. Got to give them credit though their hits were on the line but not over it. Lot of stickwork but they were smart about it.
Legault got away with a questionable hit on the boards and Dimitrik wanted to talk to him about it, he ran the rest of the game. I guess he is not a fighter, just likes taking cheap shots. He did score a nice goal. Definately worth what Cape Breton paid for him LOL.
Never thought I would be a fan of Moncton but after watching the 2 games on the weekend I can see Moncton scoring a shitload of powerplay goals on this team. 4-0 for Moncton in the series would be sweet.
Our young team looked ok today, were in the game till the end and did not look overmatched in the least. I hope the Battle of Nova Scotia has a different storyline next year, and the year after, I think it will.

Glad to have you on board for the 1st round of the playoffs ;D Not to sound cocky but if the Cats can stay relatively healthy I'm pretty confident Moncton can win in 5 games.

CB Will be gone in the first round if they play Moncton; I'm not blaming the refs for our last 2 losses, but I've been very frustrated the last 2 games at the amount of penalties there calling the Mooseheads for and thinks the other team are Saints..C'mon there not all Saints. It was a good game and our young team did very well against CB and Mathieu was outstanding nice to know we have 2 goalies who we can rely on next season as we make a run at getting back into the playoffs; we'll be there next season 2009-2010 is almost over 2 games left; but I'm sticking by them as are all Moose fans till the very final buzzer Sat afternoon!!!

Some of the penalties that were called were borderline, and CB were worthy of a few of those as well. Legault is chicken-shit, he picks and chooses who he cheap shots and I am fairly certain that he usually checks their ID. Going around chirping 16-17 year olds, than turning down Dimitrik (hardly a Mike Tyson), says alot about the character of this guy. Something tells me he would be a hell of alot quieter if CB wasn't as big as they are. Last place team against a team that has loaded up, and I was waiting for Legault to ride his stick out to center ice after scoring. As it was, he went chirping guys after scoring. Big-time celebrations when you score against or beat a team you should easily handle, looks alittle silly! I predict a far different result in next years 'Battle of NS'!

I think the Moose fans cry more about the refs than any other team in the leauge. Every other team in the leauge has dirty players that should be banned but their Clarke is an angel.

As far as beating us, get your head out of your ass and re-read the post. You should beat us, absolutely. However, a veteran-laden team shouldn't be pounding their chest when they beat the last place team. You paid an awful price putting together a team that will NOT win the league title...and I will now enjoy that! By the way, you have won how many titles? Yeah, your right, the same number as Halifax! Too many years of mediocrity, I know how you feel. Mark it on the calendar, the Moose will win the season series next year.

Clarke wasn't playing, I haven't seen any Moose fans calling him an angel and who are all these guy Moose fans want "banned". Good try though.

Since this last home and home I seen this posted: - C.B have a dirty team - some C.B fans and Organization are classless - how dare they blow the horn at c200 after goals against Halifax - how the Eagles celebrate after 3-0 comeback against poor Halifax - that Legault is a chickenshit - that Paul and Bernard are morons
I think a little frustration is showing in Mooseland. I can't say I blame you guys. If I had to suffer through what you had to the last 2 years I would be pissed too.
You are probably right about a first round exit by us, wouldn't be a real shock. Most of us wanted the team to sell at the deadline. At least we will enjoy 1 entertaining round with potential for more which is more than you will see.
Anyway, good luck next year with that powerhouse team you will have and congrats on achieving something twice in a row that the Eagles never have done....missed the playoffs!

lol, what a joke, go back to your own board and talk about how great your team is. I find it comical that you guys spend this much time worrying about what moose fans think of your team. I say again, have fun watching your team lose in the first round. I can't wait to read all the posts about how bad Mario is, how Legace didn';t live up to his billing, how this player is soft, blah, blah. We all know we aren't going to make the playoffs and yeah we fucked up in the past and missed the playoffs. But if seeing 2 playoff games is what you want to see, great for you. Enjoy it and also enjoy having no early picks for the next few years. I can tell you from experience, the few playoff games aren't worth it.
Oh and who on here said we would have a powerhouse team next year?? I think the point is that the last two years you guys were contending and we weren't, so you can't puff your chest out over you record against us lately, IMO. You should have beat us. We will be better next year for sure, and you guys will no doubt be a little worse, so probably the matchup will be a little closer.
Legault did run like a little chicken shit, if you didn't see the game. And ran his mouth after his goal. Kinda brutal if you ask me. As far as the other stuff you mentioned, I could care less. bernard is a moron, but so is clarke so who gives a shit.
enjoy your playoffs and we will see you guys next year.

DT281 Yeah most of those comments were made by me on Friday. Around the time you guys were calling Clarke a snake. And I still agree some fans are classless as it it now Monday and you are still arguing about it. BUT whatever my opinion is of some of your fans or your organization. You guys beat us twice this weekend. As a moosehead fan I speak for myself and probably many fans. CONGRATS ON YOUR 2 wins. Good Games. The stronger team won. Clarke made a questionable hit....Knotek got high sticked, and the refing was argued by some. I could list many things for and against both TEAMS. But it was 2 good games. We have a draft and contender rebuilding to discuss. You have hopefully a sucessful play-offs to discuss. Lets stop the bickering back and forth. Next year hopefully we will be back with a stronger team and we can discuss whos better. But for now we are taking different paths, and pointless arguing back and forth. Hopefully you will never have to miss the play-offs 2 years in a row. It sucks but it happens to some teams. Guess congrats missing the the play-offs twice i guess GOOD LUCK in the play-offs. But you'll really need it in 2012

I never called Clarke anything. Anyways, too bad that the rivalry on these boards are more heated than the on ice product...lol. Hopefully next year will change that.
The reffing is what is....bad.
As for 2012, that is a joke. We need more than luck. We need a GM,coach, president than the luck.

Dt281. We just made the coach and the GM the same guy. And think the owner/president realized he was making studid decisions. Still the verdict is out on that. I can still see our GM making some smart moves, but at the same time see him having to step down as coach to let someone else attempt to coach us in winning it all. What he can put on paper and making that happen on ice are still up for debate. Your coach has done well in the past in World Juniors etc. Hopefully he can smarten up.

Where are all these Eagle fans predicting championships is what I want to know.
The majority of us are already very prepared to lose to Moncton....and as Halifax fans should know more then any other team in this league right now, the fans have no control over what management does.
And predicting you'll finally beat us over the next 2 years considering you've been the worst team in the league the LAST 2 years is really going out on a limb.
Young teams getting more penalties then veteran teams isn't a ref seeing a 1-sided game, it's what happens when 16 and 17yr olds play 19 and 20yr olds in hockey for the most part.
