While we were all watching Canada learn to walk again against Germany, former Eagle (one of my favourites on last year's team actually) Nicolas Chouinard erupted for a FIVE goal night for the Montreal Junior, in a bizarre 9-7 win at Lewiston.
Four of Nic's goals came in the third period. Three of them were a perfect hat trick (three goals, in a row, in the same period) - although the last of those was an empty netter.
Believe it or not, it's the first 5-or-more goal performance in the Q this season.
Way to go Nicky Chouinard!!!

not sure why you would put believe it or not... it's not like a 5 goal game is a common occurence it would actually have surprised me if there had been another one this season... the season where 35 goals is some kind of benchmark total in the Q... i miss the 60 goal days

Even with individual scoring being down this year, you usually see at least one or two five-goal nights by February.
This is a league where this past decade alone we've seen a couple of six-goal performances. And an EIGHT goal night by Mathieu Benoit of the Titan back in the winter of 2000.

I believe there has actually only been 3 maybe 4 4 goal performances this season let alone expecting to have seen a couple of 5 goal games by now I really don't understand why scoring is down so much.... so many PP opportunities and not exactly the bumper crop of goalies the Q used to see..... yet we are looking at maybe one 100 point guy

actually looked it up... nobody scored 5 in a game last year at all in the regular season anyhow nor the season before that.. in fact you must go all the way back to October 2006 to find a 5 goal game in the Q reg season... Brett Morrison did it almost 4 full seasons ago so like I said it is not hard to believe Chouinard would be the first to do it this year lol.. as such a Q historian I expect more from you deer
